If you actually find someone that speaks and comprehends English consider your very lucky.
This is not the first time that we have had issues with customer service at this location. I wonder if all locations are the same?
Employees here are rude to paying customers , especially if you are among the white (Caucasian) minority.
We went to the self checkout and started scanning our products. One or two of the items didn't scan right and the computer said that assistance was needed but to continue scanning your items.
While the register allows us to continue scanning items a dark Caribbean woman comes running over in a huff, as if she's caught a big thief. She said these 2 items didn't scan and we said yes they did, do not rescan them. She was very cold as if we were trying to get over and steal the items. She calls over another employee and explained the matter to her. The issue gets resolved and we thank the Caribbean lady, who is still cold as ice. This should be where she says your welcome and offers an apology for her behavior.
We tell the other lady that they should fix their registers/computers so this doesn't happen all the time. She then tells us that we should go to another line.
Oh, and employees are especially good at passing the buck if you can't tell.
With all the problems we've had with this location over the years I see no way how they got 4.5 stars out of 5, unless of course they have their employees and associates posting positive reviews that are falsehoods. People really make me sick sometimes.
Employees here really could use ESL classes and sensitivity training as well as a refresher on customer service and store policies.
This must be affirmative action...
Read moreOh boy this store! This was my first time visiting this store as well as my first time in that section of the Bronx. I find people in the Bronx to be kind of unusual, to say the least.
I walked into this store, and the foods are nicely displayed but the place was so compact and congested. The fish market is in the center of the bottom of the produce isle- that is crazy to me. Why? Because there is water running on the floor and the scent of fish as you walk through the main door. Absurd! Again it is run by persons who don't speak English. Neither are there English speakers stacking the shelves. I wanted a piece of yellow yam but I needed to peer the rough dark area off. I approached a shelf stocker, and asked for a knife , he didn't know what I was saying- I didn't remember what the Spanish word for knife was so I used miming to convey my request. He still was non-responsive. I suggested he ask around so someone could speak for him.
He found someone and that person disappeared for over 20 minutes. My friend and I went to the cashier we realized the fish was not priced. I went back to have it weighed and priced.
When we got home and unloaded the bag the fish wasn't in the bag. My friend suggested that it may have fell from the cart. I retracted my steps nothing. So I went back to the store to inform them that it was probably left on the counter. The cashier claimed my friend had said she wasn't going to pay for it so it was put back in the fish market. I went to check it was no where to be found. I picked through the stale cuttings and found 2 other pieces to my displeasure. I left the store quite confused and disappointed. That place has some weird people there. Be very careful when...
Read moreBig store, great lighting. Simply horrible daytime shelves staffers. Three male Hispanics employees refused to help me because they didn't speak ANY English. ALL THREE MEN: "I no speak English". Honestly I am half Hispanic my self with broken Spanish. I was unable to say crackers in Spanish. Point I am making be ready go speak Spanish to this individuals and if they refuse to help just tell the manager like I did. Maybe management will place the Non-speaking people to the night/ store close shift so they don't have to encounter customers that speak English. Hopefully the Non-Speaking English workers learn English and stop being lazy and take some pride in their work. After all if there are no customers they will not have a job. Where ever they work in the future they are going to encounter people that do speak English. So they should learn some, if they don't feel like learning maybe they should think about going back home or to a Spanish speaking country ONLY. Side note: I did speak to a fourth Hispanic man that was on a ladder that actually helped me maybe because I started of my conversation on my broken Spanish. He helped me locate the Manager. The ONLY one to help me with my crackers location was a nice black man. He looked at me like I was nuts when I asked him Do you speak English. And yes I did speak to the Manager she was nice and professional. Once I made my complaint she got on the Walkie talkie to talk to her crew. Oh and to the three Hispanic man that refuse to help me......I am the tall black looking lady that just wanted to get some crackers for my son.
Whom ever is reading this........
