When I first arrived, there was nobody behind the desk. After about ten minutes, someone popped up, looked at me for a moment, continued doing what he was doing, and then told me "the system will be down until 4pm, we have someone working on it downstairs now." So I grabbed my bags and father out of the car and we waited on the broken couch in the lobby for another 15 or so minutes. At about 4pm, a woman walked in the front door, saw me sitting there and said "Checking in?" and was immediately able to help us. The broken system, it appeared, was fixed by her presence. Despite me feeling a bit lied to, she was very pleasant and welcoming. ||The room itself was pretty rough. The desk chair was heavily stained and odorous. There was an unidentified puddle in front of the toilet. The fan in the bathroom sounded as though it belonged in the engine of a fighter jet. The whole room smelled as though an entire bottle of Walmart Cologne No. 5 had been poured into the AC unit for circulation, hiding what smells I dare not assume. The carpet had transformed into a sampling dish of sorts, and by sorts I mean stains. Black stains, brown stains, etc. We did not feel comfortable walking around without footwear. The view left quite a bit to be desired, showcasing an overcrowded junk yard and the train (I will say, noise from the train was minimal). I was given a wifi code but was continually told there was an issue logging on, so it was not available.||Upon checkout, a new employee was working behind the desk. I'm sorry to say this gentleman was a bit less hospitable, the extent of our conversation not advancing past "Hello, I'd like to check out of room XXX," and "Okay, you're all set." Working in hospitality myself, I've come to expect at least the bare minimum when interacting with hotel personnel. I was not asked about my stay, the room, etc... though perhaps the answers to such questions are rhetorical to those creating the environment they reference. ||Upsides were that there was parking available on site and was only about 10 minute Uber ride to...
Read moreI had several issues with out room. The A/C was broken, phone didn't work in the room, the lamps didn't work & they didn't clean our room during our stay. My dad had to go downstairs and tell them that they didn't clean the room. Instead of sending someone to clean it, he was told by front desk clerk that she was unable to clean it bc that's not her job. She apologized & then gave my dad 2 trash bags, one to dump the trash in the room and another to put the dirty towels in. She instructed him to put the bags on the outside of the door and someone who come get the bags. Then she gave clean towels for the room. The breakfast was jst as bad. They only had one bagel and a few pieces of bread laying in the tray and few choices of cereal. It was as if the person for breakfast didn't show up that morning. The next morning however, the breakfast looked fresh & there was someone present to ensure that the guest had everything they needed. So we paid 412 to say two nights in the hotel and I felt at $200 a night the stay we were given was unacceptable. So I talked with them about being accommodated for our trouble. Well in the system the person who checked us charged us 412 but put in the system he put we paid $300 at a discounted rate. So the front desk clerk was like you already received a discount according to our system. I was SHOCKED! I said no we didn't! We paid $412 I showed them our receipt and asked to speak to the manager. And it was the manager who checked us in according to her. Anyway she ended up refunding us 200.00 once I threatened to go to coporate! If you pay in cash, they steal your money. The manager took 112.00 off that money we gave an...

I got off the elevator and was greeted with cigarette smell and someone was smoking weed. The hallway carpet have bleached stains and was not vacuum! My room was ok but they didn't have a microwave and the carpet was dirty and not vacuum. I brought my own cleaning supplies and wiped down everything in my room and sprayed the hallway with Lysol because the cigarette smell was coming in my room from underneath the door. I needed some ice and the ice maker was dirty!! Continental breakfast was ok but the maintenance guys who are in charge of setting up breakfast was touching the food with the same gloves they touched the doors and trash cans with!!! Housekeeping was rude and not friendly. They eat breakfast with the hotel guest and they stared at you and talked about hotel guest in Spanish and it made you feel uncomfortable. The walk to the train was a distant but it was ok. We (my sister and I) felt safe walking back to our hotel at 12am at night. We went to 42nd street and had a...
