I signed up my 4 year old for summer camp here since they offer great activities. Turns out all they did was take them to the play ground, swimming & arts and crafts all they everyday. My son started misbehaving and they couldn't handle him. My husband went to pick him up and finds one kids banging on another child head with his knuckles 5x with 2 counselors in the room and neither one notice. My husband had to call out the kid to stop doing that to the girl. He told the counselor and her reply was "oh their brothers and sister" my husband got so upset told her it doesn't matter he is hurting her. It turned out it wasnt even her brother doing that. The other day I went to check secretly and find about 17 kids between the ages of 3 and 5 all in the same room. Jumping around, bigger kids hitting & pushing younger kids. Kids getting blame for defending themselves. It was just horrible! So unprofessional for so much money. My son forgot his water once and he ask the counselor for water and she never gave it to him. They dont explain rules to the children than expect children to behave in a class room of 15 childre all different ages with 2 counselors. No organization, it's a disaster!. My son never behaves the way they said he did at the camp and I told them that something in the atmosphere of the camp was getting him to act like that. I took him out the camp and asked for a refund and it's been 3 weeks and...

I joined the Y near my home in Florida. As one of the primary selling points of joining was that I could use the facilities near my other home NY. I called the Florida Y to inquire about using other Y's in the NY area and they confirmed that I was entitled under the Nationwide Membership program. To insure that I would arrive with the right information, I called this Y (Jamacia - Cross Island) on Saturday, January 2, 2021 and was told to come in, show ID and they would verify with the Florida that I was a member in good standing. I went to the Queens Y on Tuesday, January 5th and was told by the manager that they weren't honoring the Nationwide Membership program due to Covid. A. I don't understand that logic, if home members can use the gym why can't Nationwide members use it. And, at the least the management of this facility should inform their staff that this is their current policy and update their website to inform the membership that they are not honoring the Nationwide...

They shared that they were not allowed to use the stalls to change when changing into swimming cloths. I had to ask a counselor for them to use a stall next time. My daughter was given a paper with what looked like a booger and was told to flip it to the other side or rip it off mostly as a parent when my kids told me that they weren't learning sports, it was a huge letdown because I paid a lot of money for "sports camp" After the second day, they said because they didn't know how to play football they were told to just hang out and run around as the kids that didn't know how to play football play football. The other who did played football. I spoke to the counselor there the next day and they said oh they apologize and would make sure they learned the sport of the day. Overall it was an incredibly huge let down that most of their time was spent drawing, doing sedentary activities and not actually spending time learning about teamwork the value of sports, learning a sport. The counselors were respectful and pleasant. But the program and curriculum get a zero...
