CTown Supermarkets — Attraction in New York

This place is atrocious, I can’t believe the prices and it is so infuriating because the prices do not match the neighborhood profile it’s basically a food desert around here and the only supermarket takes advantage of the community and the people who live in it. The prices are sky rocketed for example very little items are on sale and the items that are regular priced are ridiculous for example a small tub of cream cheese runs about $7-$9 where it’s usually $4-$5. The prices of the food here are unreachable for a lot of people in the community, supermarkets tend to triple the price when they know that a lot of goers have food stamps, well what about the people who pay with their own hard cash and also having food stamps should not be an excuse for them to charge a whole lot. With my knowledge of public health and as someone who is passionate about food insecurity and accessibility it makes me very frustrated. I didn’t even bother continuing to waste my time. There is something that needs to be done it is really ridiculous. When all there are is the McDonald’s and the fried chicken store around the supermarket should be a place where people can get affordable groceries to make nutritious meals. Something...

Went into the store 20mins before closing to buy water. They had already closed that section. I asked if i could get water. Young guy told me no because it was time for him to go home. Mind you the store was still open & the cashiers were still checking people out. Then the young guy asked one of the older men to get it. The older guy lied & said there was no more water & refused to open the gate. The young guy comes back & says to me "didn't he tell you there was no more water whats your problem" I yell at him to not talk to me in that manner. If it was a white community they would go out of there way to get the water. I use my hard earned money to shop at this store. I had issues in the past with this store. This will defiantly be my last time shopping there. Because they have no respect.!!! I CANT EVEN GIVE THEM A STAR. But it was the only way i could make this post because customer service is very important. I really wish they would go out of business and another business would replace them!!! #ritual coming wait on it!!! Times continue to change & new things...

This store is terrible! Bought some chop meat that made me throw up! Cooking it i realize no oil came from the meat. Thought that was odd but, still ate it. Did not have a bad smell is why I ate it. Then changed it for chicken which did not look good after taking it home. It had brown spot on the side you cannot see! Will not shop for meat at this location. Only buy, what they do not prepare!! Like can or box food with proper expire date.

Ok guys, another horror story to tell! Went back to Ctown on Pitkin Avenue. Bought some wings because, I forgot to get them from Shoprite. We'll, I bought them but, they was bad. Took them back on Sunday. Manager said, "You have 2 hours to bring them back." "I don't know what you did to that chicken." Still in its original package and frozen, he was not having it. He suggested I needed the money is why I bought them back!! $18 is the price total for 3 small packs of wings. DO NOT BUY MEAT HERE!! CHECK THE DATES ON EVERYTHING. AND, NEVER GO ON A SUNDAY THIS MANAGER IS RUDE...
