I am a current tenant for many years and opened many buildings for Treasure Island (prior to your purchase) in terms of cleaning services. The reason I am contacting you is because my team has nowhere to go to with issues at this location with your GM and I apologize to bring it to you but we are left with no options.
This location was tailored to suit our business needs now it is actually hampering my operation. We rented in this location as there were doors installed in order to house my power washing equipment 24/7, we even had emergency poles installed and space just for us to be able to move our equipment. I have lost 4 jobs because the current GM of the location refuses to let us open those doors to take my equipment out of the location. We also were taken away 24/7 operation access with no lead time and has hurt our operation as well.
The GM of the location refuses to help and at this point refuses to do anything about it or support and is very nasty with my employees who are just trying to do their job. My team should not feel harassed or scared to speak to any one we rent from as what went from a wonderful partnership has become a nightmare.
I have spent a large amount of revenue at your location and continue to do so but the GM and Cube Smart is now affecting my business and I am canceling work orders due to it. I would understand if there was professionalism and an understanding as to why we cannot access our equipment but prior to her arrival we did not have one issue. We would access these doors daily.
In fact those door are fire emergency doors that now seem to be locked after us using them for years.
Again I apologize for placing this on you shoulders but we have zero options and it is clear this GM does not respond well and rather have my staff...

Rates are reasonable. Recommend to anyone in a need for storage. Updated review 8/20/25: 1. Rent rate increased by 20% ($212 to $253) following 6 month rent period since began renting, with no advanced notice despite the company stating a notification mail was sent a month prior 2. I have changed my 10x10 unit to a 5x10 unit based on the information provided by the store representative on 8/15 that my new rate would be $142 3. On 8/16 I moved my storage content to the newer 5x10 just to be told the promotion didn’t take place but assured it will be taken care and fixed 4. On 8/20 I spoke with Melissa, a regional manager, who was extremely rude thinking all along I am a different costumer, just to be told I am not eligible for any promotion and my new 5x10 unit will be priced at $232 5. She did provide me with a credit of the difference on the old unit. In summery: 1. I am renting now a 5x10 unit for a price of $232 a transition made base on false information provided by the store representative that the unit will cost $142 - the representatives in the store are not synchronized with the company’s data 2. My request to understand why there was a 20% rent increase after 6 month was denied based on her statement this information is confidential. My advise to future costumers is to make sure you double check the information provided before making any decisions and be aware of unexpected disproportionate rent increase. Read moreThis place is a complete disaster. Despite being a relatively new building, nothing works. One of the doors is always broken, the access pad constantly fails, and the elevators are a nightmare with ongoing problems. And as bad as that is, the real issue is the staff. They can’t even manage basic tasks like cleaning the common areas, but they are more than happy to come after tenants for any minor mistake.
I accidentally left a cart outside the premises because my car had a battery issue, and they immediately called me, demanding I return it. Meanwhile, as other reviews point out, the office is frequently abandoned for hours, and they can’t even open on time. I apologized and explained my situation, but they told me they didn’t care and were too busy—yet somehow, they found time to slap a $50 charge on my account. Apparently, the person in charge stayed late just to fine me.
When I tried to discuss this with the manager the next day, she was unbelievably rude. She claimed I had a history of complaints, but when I asked her to list them, she just repeated things that happened recently. I barely stop by as it is, and after almost a year, I’ve always paid my rent and any late fees when necessary. But this person acts like she owns the place, while doing a terrible job running it.
