This is me and my fiancé's "spot". Anytime we are looking to have a date night, want to treat friends and family, or it's Friday and we just need to decompress, this is our place. We started coming here when they first opened, before they even had their liquor license, and have never looked back. Being totally candid, we come here to eat or take out on average at least once a week, sometimes two or three times if we're busy. We even had our engagement dinner here. I really can't speak highly enough about Thai Social. The food is the best Thai food in Queens, by FAR. All the food is good and you will be impressed by the typical standards (i.e. pad thai, drunken noodles, red/green curries, etc.) BUT if you're looking for something more interesting, order the rice clay pot with beef, the pineapple fried chicken stir fry, the coconut crab curry, and if you're a vegetarian, the crispy basil eggplant. Absolutely stunning flavors in these dishes. Aside from the food, the service is impeccable. The owner, Gig, and her team totally make the experience. They make every effort to cater to you in a way that is personal without being intrusive. They also get to know their regulars, and we absolutely love that. In terms of atmosphere, the vibes are great. The restaurant itself is just beautiful and very creative, with the artwork detailing the walls, the bright colors, flowers...it's pretty. The music is never too loud and is usually modern or interesting covers of well known songs. It's an inviting place for families, couples, and friend groups alike. And everyone you see just seems happy to be there, and why wouldn't they be? If you haven't been to Thai Social yet, you are truly depriving yourself! Let this be your sign...

Read moreI recently dined at Thai Social, and it was a nice experience. The restaurant is small and the atmosphere inviting with well-thought-out decor making it a perfect spot for any occasion. The service staff was friendly and accommodating and they were knowledgeable about the menu.
The menu is pretty big and they offer a diverse range of dishes. For appetizers, my group shared calamari, Zaab wings, crab Rangoon, and curry puff. The calamari was nothing special, but it was crispy and had enough flavor. The zaab wings were a dry seasoning, which made the wings a bit dry overall, but was still spicy and delicious. Crab Rangoon had more cream cheese than crab meat, which was disappointing. The curry puff was spot on though. The puff was flaky and crispy and it was stuffed with a good amount of curry. For entrees, I tried the Khao Soi Chicken Curry Noodles and Roasted Duck Drunken Noodles. The curry broth in the curry noodles was rich and and fragrant. The chicken was tender but lacked flavor. I think my favorite was the roasted duck drunken noodles. They did not hesitate to top my dish with a bunch of duck. The noodles were flavorful and has a good kick of spice.
The pricing is pretty average compared to other restaurants nowadays. I would say the quality of the food and the dining experience justified the prices. Overall, Thai Social is a good option for anyone craving for some Thai cuisine. Another great addition to the Bayside/Oakland...
