Very nice location. I was able to visit for the 2025 5 boro bike tour event. Great views of the Verrazano bridge. Next time I visit SI, I will plan to explore Fort Wadsworth better. Alot of information surrounding Fort Wadsworth.

Great place to visit regardless of what time of year. During the summer and weekdays, come for a free inside tour of the actual fort itself where you can immerse yourself with how it would feel to be there when it was active.

A place to sit back and reflect. See the beautiful skyline of Brooklyn and Manhattan and Jersey. Take some great pictures, while taking in the beauty.

The Visitor Center is the best way to start your visit to Fort Wadsworth. There is a museum which provides a great overview of the historic military base and fortifications and there are park rangers on staff who can point out all the best things to see in the park. Definitely worth your time. - Be advised: this visitor center is open seasonally (spring, summer, and fall) and is usually closed in the...

My son and I did a tour of Fort Wadsworth led by Kathy today. She did an excellent job of sharing the history of the Fort and its makings. In addition, there was a Cub Scout group that was part of the tour. She was very patient and managed the kids well. She also involved them in the learning process and the kids were quite engaged! Kathy was very personable and friendly. We look forward to doing...

Had a nice chat with Ranger Nick, who shared some of the history of the fort. As we talked, Nick was cleaning and restoring a Civil-War-era rifle. He showed me how the firing mechanism is supposed to operate. We also chatted about the reading of the Declaration of Independence organized by Staten Island OutLOUD, taking place on Independence Day at Fort...
