Havemeyer Bronx Road Test Site — Attraction in New York

This test site was an experience! I had read the reviews below and was a bit discourage taking my test here.

My Driving instructor and I got there at around 10:15am for a 10:45am appointment and was checked in by the DMV license examiner supervisor examiner 976 who knew my instructor’s company but the interaction was cold. As we waited, it seemed that there was only two license examiner so my appointment was a bit late than expected until the license examiner supervisor happened to be my examiner cringe!

When I entered the car, she asked if I had any questions which I didn’t and she told me to start the car which I did, I made my adjustments and overstated the car as well as panicked on getting the car out of park but she just told me to pull out in her cold tone.

As we drove, right turn, a left turn, and a three-point turn (which I executed). When she says to do these things, do them ASAP, she did hit the break a couple of times on me to get the car to stop. With the parking she stopped the car abruptly where I wasn’t able to park the care correctly and was super far out. She did give me another try in fixing it which I executed it. When she told me to pull out-I wanted to reverse but she hit the break and was telling me not to do that and just pull out which I did. During the drive, I had to tell her something I was doing outside of the rules in the manual but she told me “ma’am you don’t need to tell me everything you’re doing” in a very cold tone. Mind you, I was told by my instructor to communicate anything out of scope of what is expected but I did listen to her smh.

My test lasted about 5 minutes until we needed to go back. On the way back, she told me to turn left up hill but the light was about to change and I had to communicate (though she basically told me to shut up) that I wasn’t going to make it and I refuse to run the light. When I got back, I was a bit worried at the fact that I finished pretty quickly because a woman before me never came back-even her instructor was worried for her. I heard from my instructor that if it takes long it isn’t good.

But I passed today! I recommend you definitely practice practice practice driving to pass, as for examiner 976-I just wish she wasn’t so cold and stoic- it would have made my nerves more calm. But I am grateful she allowed for a correction on that parallel parking because I know a lot of other examiners wouldn’t allow for that and you give you -15. Maybe she was...

Today i took my test with examiner #902 and I literally took an hour and half lesson the day before and the instructor said i was good and then this guy was rude not reassuring at all i said good morning and he just nodded his head and started filling out paperwork for almost 10 minutes then after that he is like “ are you ready begin” so after stopping at a stop sign and seeing no-one was there i started to go but then a lady decided to pull up and not stop so i had to break on the cross walk “ he repeatedly stated that I was on the crosswalk like I was the one in the wrong when he clearly seen the other driver in the wrong then we’re driving down the block and last minute he tells me take a left turn right now. I’m in the middle of driving. And after hearing this instruction, I made the turn a little wide just barley near the car (that was parked illegally btw) He slams on the brakes and tells me to make a U-turn and once I get confused and tell him that when i was in driving school i was instructed that we can not a full U-trun on the road test he sucks his teeth and says three point turn very nasty now we’re on a narrow block thats a hill and the car from my driving school is not a little car so I’m basically trying to make a three point turn on a two way narrow road and I’m not even supposed to make a three point turn on this type of block this was completely ridiculous he failed me saying i have poor judgment at intersections and cannot make turns I would not recommend this location but if you must use look out for examiner# 902 he is an African man average height bald and has the worst smelling cologne Ever it is almost nauseating the amount he puts on overall L place to take the test DMV needs to fire this man ASAP!! ps to everyone taking their test remember stay clam and if you fail don’t beat yourself up its not the end of...

Let me just start out saying the waiting time is horrible literally almost 2 hours lol and let's get into the most ridiculous part examiner says go when safe so I do the normal things you do when you get in the car seat belt adjust seat mirror then she tells me turn on car and I did that she then says you can go so I do my mirror check , blind spot check and right when I was about to leave spot she presses brakes saying I am going to hit car in front of me so then I back up and leave spot she tells me make left on a block with hill so I do she then last second says park behind a car I am barely close but close enough and she says I was too close and she doesn't give me a chance to park so she says do a 3 point I check all mirrors and blind spot before doing 1st turn then do second part fine 3rd part the final part of the 3 point turn she presses brake saying I am too close to other car when their was enough space so I put it in reverse for more space and turn and then from there few more rights and left and we are done I don't appreciate how she the thinks she knows more than the actual situation happening if you get instructor 907 you will fail she is wishing for you to fail I will be getting more practice and coming back in a few weeks in hopes of a another instructor that has love the job she is doing and not acting like she is perfect Update 12/27 examiner 904 literally wasting you're time if you get this man late directions how do you want me to turn when you are giving late directions can't do a good turn like that idk what to do anymore but this road test site ain't it Update: 1/23 passed examiner 313 is so nice she doesn't yell or has an attitude she is quiet and straight to the point I wish I can say a bigger thank you for me passing I appreciate it and I hope you get a raise or something...
