Hillside Farmer Market — Attraction in New York

The Short Version: They pick-pocketed me and stole my phone. I’m reporting them but thought I should leave a review as well.

The Long Version: This sounds unbelievable but I just lived it. (9/4/2018) I’m on crutches and I just went in to get some lettuce and dressing.They were watching me the whole time. I didn’t think anything of it because I was the only one in the store. I got to the counter and paid. I started looking for my phone as the old man at the counter bagged my things. I looked in my bag, patted all my pockets, and couldn’t find it. So I ask the man (since he had been watching me) if he saw me put my phone down somewhere. He said “I don’t know about your phone” It was rude and really odd. So I ask “are you sure? I’m just gonna look around for it” so i start looking around and the man says to one of the workers “Give her her phone” I look at him and ask “What did you say?” He says to me “I ask him to Call your phone for you” I tell them to give me my phone and the old man says “call her phone. Call it” I turn to the worker and has this sneaky grin and says “I don’t have your phone” I reply “I didn’t ask if you had my phone” At this point I’m sick of the games so I tell them I’ll be back with my son. I leave for 5 minutes and come back. Guess who is standing at the counter with my phone (and now cracked case)? The worker. He hands it to me and the old man says “You should tip him, he’s an honest man” UN-EFFING-REAL! Needless to say, I’m never going back there. A shame that a local business is STEALING from their customers. Who steals from someone...

The people working there are so rude. From the stocker, all the way up to the customer service associate. I don’t care if it is NY, there’s no reason to be that agitated. I’m not a beggar, I’m a customer buying from your small business. Isles are not labeled. I get it. Every store is different. But if they’re not, don’t expect customers to know where items are. Expect to help, or label it so you don’t have to work that hard. There’s one lady there at the check out desk, she’s been rude every time we’ve been. My mom asked where something was and she just waved her finger in a general area. I confronted her and she rolled her eyes and huffed. LADY. Seriously? YOU might be there every day, but people walk through the store who aren’t even from your state. I’m sure you don’t care, because you lack people skills. You’re in the wrong business. There’s need to be so agressive when someone simply asked you where...

Very fresh veggies! One of my best places to go for my greens. What I don’t like is that they allow Persons who speak the same language as them to skip the line. Today I was waiting online with others and two persons just walked up. When I asked politely why do they allow persons to skip the line, I was ignored. So I figure I write a review. Not all employees allow it I admit but mainly the evening staff allows people to just walk up no matter long the line is to the back. It has even causes...
