This was by far the most sketchy, seedy and disgusting hotel stay's I've ever had. I arrived after midnight with a 19 hour layover in NY seeking a decent night's sleep before a flight to Europe. 1) The WiFi never worked 2) The TV was smashed and the remote was missing parts 3) Lampshade cracked and broken with only one USB port working. 4) The room had not been cleaned: hair in the sink upon my arrival and there was someone else's belongings left on floor. 5) There were multiple cigarette burns on the bedspread and the sheet had a bright red stain. 6) Suspicious brown stains and crayon marks on the walls 7) Black duct tape on the walls covering who knows what 8) The bathroom door knob/lock had been previously tampered with 9) One of the vending machines had an out of order sign on it. 10) Bathroom wallpaper bubbling off the wall 11) The only thing that appeared in decent shape was a sex chair, that I wouldn't go near. 12) There was no phone in the room to call reception and I had to walk to the reception desk in my pajamas to complain at 1:30 am. No one at reception (conveniently located behind bullet proof glass). When I returned around 2 am, the receptionist told me that Wifi doesn't work in the basement, there were no other rooms available and she would tell management about the Wifi problem and other issues in the morning, but it was too late to do anything about it. 13) I complained in person and wrote an email complaint while in Europe to the hotel that was ignored. After I returned to the US, I called again. I was told to call back later when a manager was there. When I asked for the name of the manager, the receptionist hung up on me. To say I didn't sleep well is a gross understatement. All that for $250. Isn't that great?

I booked this hotel for 5 days on Expedia for a worked related trip. As I walked into the hotel, it appeared to be a homeless shelter combo/ hotel. Walked into the room and all the amenities listed on the website were missing including the closet rod and hangers to hand my suits. The bedding had a number of cigarettes holes in it and was extremely worn. The walls were covered in dirty sticky spots and the room and hallway smelled of marijuana and sewage. All the furnitures were damage and appeared to have bugs in the drawers. Also, The iron and board were strapped down with with a metal cord to prevent theft. The iron board cover was filthy and unusable. The room was a complete disaster and very dirty. There’s no sound proofing and the noise from the outside is very loud. The images on the websites are not what it is in person. I left the same night after waiting house for the manager to assist with this.

Absolutely Disgusting – Do Not Stay Here This hotel was an absolute nightmare. The second I walked in, I was hit with the overwhelming smell of cigarettes and bleach—a disgusting combo clearly trying to cover up something worse. The comforter had burn holes, the curtains were stained, and the lampshade had nasty brown marks all over it. The desk chair was completely torn and bubbling, and the walls had visible damage, holes, and stains like someone ripped décor off and never bothered to fix it. It was just gross. I showed the front desk photos, and they didn’t seem fazed at all. No apology—just offered to move me to another room like this is totally normal. Spoiler alert: it’s not. To top it all off, the state rating posted on the door was a D. A D. That says everything you need to know. If you value cleanliness, safety, or basic human decency—avoid this place at all costs.

I’ll never stay here and would never suggest this place. Unfortunately I booked with Expedia, only checked their reviews, and never checked Google reviews. Expedia has a VERY inaccurate rating! They have them marked with a 4 star rating. Google reviews have them with 2 stars. After my experience I read all reviews & the higher rated reviews sound like robots/fake paid account reviews. They sound like the same person wrote them. So I’m going to take a lucky guess the people at this place are spending their day submitting fake reviews to boost their rating, because there is no way this place should be rated more than a 1-2 star. I personally wouldn’t even give it that. I would give it a big FAT ZERO STARS. First, It’s on a very loud busy corner in Jamaica Queens. No hotel parking so you need to find parking on the street. When you find parking you have to hurry with your bags across the busy streets before the crossing sign quickly changes. As you walk in you smell the strong stench of smoke and marajuana. There’s a front desk with one worker behind bullet proof glass, there are 2 drink machines that only take cash, and an atm. The atm is there for decoration apparently, because if you needed cash it was “out of service”. I made a quick stop to my room to make sure my keycard worked and left because I had somewhere to be. When I got back it was towards the end of the day. The closet was very small with an iron holder on its door, but no iron. There was NO phone in the room, the door lock was useless and if someone had a keycard they could just walk in. The room had stains splattered literally everywhere, ripped & stained curtains, dirty light switches, dirty ac system, and a dirty fridge that had the shelves taken out. The room was so dark! One lamp that barely lit the room and was in extremely poor shape. I had a food platter from when I was out that I had to prop up with the ice bucket turned upside down in the fridge in order to chill my food and be able to still close the the fridge all the way. If I didn’t do this my plate wouldn’t fit because there was no shelves. There was sketchy holes over the shower & bed, dirty walls, and the room smelled of smoke even though it was non smoking. To make it worse, a fire hazard because they dangerously had the smoke detector covered with plastic. I assume to keep it from going off repeatedly with the smell. So if there was a real fire you wouldn’t be notified because the detector was tampered with and theres no phone in the room to get a warning call. If it was left by a previous customer then that just tells me even more they didn’t clean the room if they didn’t see that. Also disgustingly dirty bedding and missing comforter. I had to walk all the way back down to the front desk since there was no phone for me to call for room service. She said they would send someone up. It was over an hr later that a gentlemen wearing gloves came to my room and handed me bedding, HANDED ME, the bedding. I guess I was suppose to change out the soiled sheets myself and put on new ones after he admitted the sheets on the bed were supposedly cleaned by him, but “just stained”. Lies! He then noticed I was missing the comforter and went to get one. He came back to my door with a rolled up ball of comforter. Everything in this room screamed RUN. The hotel offered me another room but I wouldn’t get it until the next day, which means I would have to stay in a filthy room. I didn’t want another dirty room and declined. Their second option was to send housekeeping up, which made no sense because he literally just left my room having done NOTHING. My last option was to cancel my reservation. I did! I contacted Expedia as I had purchased insurance during booking. They tried for days to get ahold of the hotel and when they finally got them they refused a refund because they have a no refund policy, even though they ABSOLUTELY DID NOT PROVIDE THE SERVICE ADVERTISED. This place is so gross they need to be reported to the better business bureau. I’m now filing a claim...

I wasn’t sure if I wanted to do this but it needs to be done because I never wanna miss an opportunity to help other WOMEN .... ||||So the end of April I booked a hotel room for 2 nights at HOTEL PERGOLA located at 183-02 Jamaica Ave !! I booked because my bestfriend and I decided to book the room because it was our god kids bday weekend and we had a lot to do so it was convenient for us to move around ... The first night I was in there alone my bestfriend wasn’t coming until the next morning around 11pm I was on FaceTime with my friends when a man walked in my room and then quickly exited when he realized I was awake .. I quickly called my mother and left the room I didn’t think anything crazy except he was probably trying to rob me .. so I switched rooms to the ground floor NEXT TO THE FRONT DESK !!! The first room which was on the first floor DIDN’T have a latch and I realized leaving the door didn’t really lock either ... with that being said the second night which now my bestfriend is there around 5am I WAS SLEEPING and my bestfriend was awake and she heard somebody come in the room again I jumped up because she jumped up and the person was standing in the corner .. when I fully got up the person ran out of the room because he heard 2 voices ... by the time I got to the door it was nobody in sight ..... I immediately packed my things and went to the front desk ||||The overnight front desk person which is the same man from the first night tried to call me crazy and threatened to call the police on us if we didn’t leave .... I had to call my mother and my brother and if you know us you know my brother is a hotel manager ... when my brother came in he tried to tel him nothing happened and my brother asked to see the room and when my brother came back with the lock the front desk person began to panic my brother asked him for the all the hotel safety requirements THEY HAD NONE !!!!!!!!!! When we asked them to call the manager they refused .. when we asked for names they only gave us there first names which we didn’t even think was real .... ||I’m sharing this as a warning BEWARE OF THESE PRIVATE OWNED HOTELS !!!!!!!!! ||I know y’all wondering why I didn’t call the police but honestly I don’t think they would of done anything especially since nothing physically happened .. ||I believe in gettting the word out so no one can go through this or something even worst happens !! ||DONT BOOK HERE ||HOTEL PERGOLA ||183-02 JAMAICA AVENUE QUEENS NY !!!!||||EDIT : THE HOTEL WAS ON BOOKING !!! I wish we had taken pictures to add to this review, but we were so disgusted and left so quick we didn’t get any. Avoid this hotel at all costs. We had an unexpected long layover after an international flight and this place was $178 a night which seemed decent for the area. The pictures online do not match the reality of this hotel. It should be considered false advertising based on how vastly different it is in real life. We aren’t the kind of people who have incredibly high standards, especially when traveling and needing somewhere to stay short notice. The entire building smells like cigarettes/ marijuana/ Clorox. The first room they gave us was occupied by someone else, so they did immediately switch our room and apologized. No big deal to us. However, the second room was awful. We were afraid to touch the bed (or really anything else in the room for that matter), the night stands were falling apart, the bathroom was gross, the sheets had burn holes and stains on them, there were holes in the curtains, holes in the walls, stains on the walls and floor, the fire alarm was hanging from the ceiling, I could keep going. It looked like a hotel from a horror movie. We weren’t even there an hour and they do not do any refunds so we are out $178. We explained to them why we were leaving and they kept trying to get us to try a different room, but at that point our mind was made up that this wasn’t going to work. We needed a place for 15 hours and it was so bad that we were willing to lose the money and go somewhere else. Do yourself a favor and just stay at one of the airport hotels. We paid $246 for a room at the Hilton instead and it was immensely better. We will also be calling our credit card company to dispute the charge because it’s the principle of the matter that they do not deserve money for what they are providing. I have never walked out of a hotel so quickly and been okay with just potentially losing that kind of money. We would not have been able to sleep or get any sort of rest, which is all we wanted after a 9.5 hour flight. Seriously do not give these people your money. I don’t know what they are doing with it, but they are definitely not maintaining the hotel in anyway. I don’t think they should even be allowed to operate or take money from people because they are not providing a service. They are...
