I hope this post finds you all well and healthy.
This place could and should be much better at interacting with the customers. The staff is extremely rude, especially the cashiers, very short-tempered and rude. The employees who stock and put up the frozen foods and fresh vegetables are rude and disrespectful, too. This location has horrible customer service, management should make changes, give employees in-service and training. The store can also use employees who are bilingual, employees who can communicate with customers that only speak English.
This location is not all bad. The men who work in the fresh meat, and seafood department may not all understand English, but they have patience and work with you and give you what you ask. The vegetables are very fresh, probably one of the best places to get veggies and fruits in Flushing, extremely fresh fruits and veggies.
However, the price that they charge on some fruits is insane. For example, at this location, three Chinese apples in the carton $10. I saw the same Chinese apples a half hour ago for $5 at Target, one mile up the road. Some of the fruits are overpriced at this location.
I was extremely shocked when I reached the check-out register to find out this huge supermarket market only excepts cash. They did not take debit or any other .ethid of payment, ONLY CASH, this is not acceptable.
When I finished my purchase I look around at the entrance for signs that might have been posted warning potential shoppers oy cash accepted, but nothing. I watched as the gleeful-eyed customers swiftly entered through the sliding doors, clueless to the fact their plastic cards will not be able to finalize their purchases. This place gets a low-level two-stars, much-needed improvements are required at this location.
Thank you Shop wise,...
Read moreWorst customer service I can recall at any area grocery store. The cashiers don't really speak English, which is fine, but if you happen to have a price discrepancy you will suffer the wrath of the very rude manager (at least the Sunday morning one).
I never had a problem here for years, but this week I was in to buy a few items and noticed a great sale on tofu. Sign said Sunrise tofu 24.7 oz ( I forget the actual sale price) but when I brought the Sunrise tofu 24.7oz to the counter the sale price did not ring up. The manager then came over and read me the riot act for making an issue out of it because the picture was of a different line of Sunrise brand tofu (blue box not green box). Well, fair enough, it was different, but the one in the picture was the 18.7oz pack of tofu. I tried to explain that the weight was off (by almost a half pound!) but she insisted that the picture was right and therefore I was an idiot and a cheat for trying to make her sell me the other version. She wouldn't even acknowledge that the weight was different. I tried to ask her why it was so important that the picture was right but it didn't matter that the weight was off by so much, to which she told me that if I had so much time on my hands I should go enjoy the weather.
Really, has anyone ever been to a grocery store that didn't caveat their sale with a disclaimer that image may not reflect actual sale item? I've never heard of the picture being the ultimate sale indicator, in every other experience it has been the technical data (weight, price, quantity, etc). I don't even begrudge them not honoring that price (though most every other grocery store would have) but the extreme rudeness and the complete lack of common sense explanation have ruined this store for me, I won't be going...
Read moreThey sold me spoiled ground chicken!! I told my wife I want to eat dumplings a few days ago and she went to this store and bought ground chicken. My wife put the ground chicken in and mixed with chopped chives, Chinese bak choy, shrimp and later on realized the ground chicken was spoiled!
We drove back to their store at 9:10PM and they were closed. I called this store and their main office at 9:30PM and no one answered and there is no message machine. I am very very mad. The spoiled ground chicken ruined our dinner, time, effort and along with all the other food we bought to make the dumplings.
I am going back to this store first thing tomorrow and ask for to see a manager. This is horrible!!!
Updated - A female name Jenny acknowledged the chicken i received was bad and called a staff from the meats dept over and they talked. Jenny informed me she can only refund me the money for chicken. I told her because of her bad chicken I have wasted my money on the chives, bak choy, and shrimp. She looked at me with no emotions and didn't say sorry. I told her my daughter could have eaten her meat and ended up in the hospital. I...
