I have been coming to this Hmart for years. The recent couple of times I have come I have had a problem with customer service. First, as a SNAP recipient by state law I have never had to pay for a paper bag. Recently 3x I had to tell the cashiers that they cannot charge me and they seem to not believe me. It has become really annoying that I have to explain myself. Management needs to make this clear to it's staff.
Second, I had been using my hmart savings card this whole time not knowing it was not collecting points. When I asked to transfer my old green card to the new red card they told me the card was inactive and I had no points. After speaking to headquarters customer care they told me I can have the points transferred in hmart customer service. I went back to and spoke to Hong and explained the situation. She said that she could not transfer the points. She was VERY unhelpful to they point where she didn't try to help me. I asked her 3TIMES how do you know you can't if you haven't called customer service. All 3X she did noy answer that question. I HAD TO CALL in order to get this done. As I was on the phone she didn't bother to wait and left. I had tonwait for someone to be called and Brian was finally able to talk to someone and have explained what he needed to do. I have worked in customer service and this is one of the laziest services I have gotten. Hong needs to be retrained to learn how to WANT to...
   Read moreDear H Mart Management,
I would like to bring to your attention an incident that occurred at your store. At the food sampling area, one of your staff members displayed obvious discriminatory behavior: ⢠She only served Korean customers and ignored others. ⢠When we politely asked her about the food, she said she could not speak English. However, she continued to serve a lady wearing purple with no issue. ⢠There were no samples on the table, but she directly opened a new package to give to that lady, while refusing to serve the children who had been waiting in line. When I asked why, she simply said she âdidnât see them.â ⢠Moreover, she even used impolite gestures toward my child.
I could not find a manager in the store at that moment, so I am reporting this matter through this letter.
I am not asking for any special treatment, but I sincerely hope that H Mart will ensure fair and equal service to all customers, and maintain the good reputation and values that your company represents.
Additionally, the staff member is actually able to speak Mandarin, so the excuse of not being able to communicate does not seem valid. I kindly ask that you review the surveillance footage to confirm what happened.
Thank you for your attention, and I look forward to your...
Read moreWhat do you expect when you enter a supermarket? To only buy groceries right? Well, you are in for a surprise you step into H mart. At H mart you can shop for beauty supplies, grab a redbean fish cake and shop for groceries at the same time. The main reason to stop by H mart though is to eat at the restaurant that's located in the back. When you walk down the ramp the smell of grilled chicken and beef immediately awakes your senses. In the midst of being in bliss, you are brought right back to reality when you hear loud Korean workers screaming out customer's orders and thats because its a self serve restaurant. When your order is ready they scream out your order number and you go to counter and pick up your meal, tea and utensils. If at that point you are unsure what to order, My advice is to try #18. I've tried that once and no other order has been ingrained in my head like that grilled beef. For $10 you get a handful of grilled beef, sticky rice, Kim che, salad and soup. Be sure to come with an empty stomach because you'll sure be loosening that belt when you are done. Make sure to take an order of redbean fish cakes to go also! They sure...
