Read moreGreat sized gym....good variety of equipment and weights. Machines are always kept in good working order. Gym is kept clean. There is a sauna in the men's and women's locker/bathrooms. Staff there are great.
My biggest beef however is with the self-centered members who are needlessly tying up machines because they are playing with their phones. It is beyond irritating, that the staff allow this. There should be a blanket policy of 'no phones allowed outside of the locker rooms. PERIOD.'
And don't bother trying to say something to anyone who's on their phone...even something subtle/polite, such as 'whenever you're done, can I use this machine next?', as you will typically be met with a defensive response such as 'oh, I have two more sets to go' (even though, in fact, they were probably done with their sets, but were glued to their phone...and now that you said something to them, they're going to do even MORE sets, just to make a point).
The level of selfishness of some people, is unbelievable. Heck, I've even noticed some people 'reserving' machines, putting their jacket, bag etc. on or next to a machine, while they are elsewhere. And don't even THINK about 'moving their stuff', or getting on 'their' machine, as they won't be happy about it.
Wow. People have become so utterly selfish.
And...Matrix should not insult me or any other patrons by suggesting they weren't previously aware of this issue, or that they will 'take my compaint under consideration'. It's clear they have sinply decided not to have or enforce any policy regarding fones put on the floor, as it might alienate certain of their fone-addicted clientele.
One more thing...a big shout out to their cleaning guy. It's 100% clear that he takes his job very seriously...he's not just 'trying to look busy' or give machines rudimentary wipe downs. He's very diligent...all the time. It's rare, now, to see a person who takes pride in their work...reminds me of Japan, where no matter a person's job, they do it at the...
Read moreThe facility looks decent with a lot of equipments and space. However, the marketing strategy is deceiving. I was walking past the place in the early afternoon when I saw a billboard stating that the first 50 members have a monthly fee of 23~ dollars. After going in, I was greeted nicely to by a lady who after asking what was my reason for my coming in today, I mentioned I saw the outside sign, saw it as a good deal, and wanted to look into the gym. I asked her for the cost of the membership twice, only to be redirected both times stating I need to fill out the tablet next to their counter before they can go over the pricing.
I filled out the tablet that asked for all relevant information from name, email, address, etc. Once completed I was pointed to another guy, I believe maybe Jose, to answer my question. He had no smile, positive expressions on his face, or any sort of enthusiasm to engage a new customer. He lazily insisted to walk me through the gym, pointing at things from afar without even walking much inside of the gym, seemingly was annoyed if I had any questions, left me to check out the locker facility by myself when asking about it, and went his way telling me to meet him at the counter once I'm done.
I then went to the counter asking about the price to be handed this brochure stating that the startup fee was reduced from 99 to 23 dollars, but the monthly costs to attend the gym is on average 65 dollars on top of that. Feeling misled and deceived, I stated that the outside sign stated 23 dollars for the month, and he responded condescendingly stating "you think this facility would cost that low?". I said I will think about it and left refraining from stating this horrible experience. Wasted about 15 minutes of my life due to false marketing and advertising. People should be more upfront. Now I'm getting some emails from their tablet subscription services as...
