I've been working out at Iron Lion since late 2022 and have never found a gym quite like it. I'm always excited to go to my weekly sessions, which after this many months of working out consistently is truly a feat for any gym. Their approach to semi-private training is really effective and they take a very informed approach to sports fitness, breathing exercises, and addressing body compensation tendencies to build you to a better foundation for performing the movements that align to helping people achieve their fitness goals. I'm constantly being monitored by one coach or another at the gym to make sure I'm moving safely and while I'm generally assigned to one or two specific coaches for each workout, it's not uncommon for a different coach to observe something I could be doing better and help me improve what I'm doing in real time to maximize safety and effectiveness. I also am about to complete an 8-week nutrition program with ILP that's re-shaped my approach to eating in a way that feels sustainable versus the fad/crash diet approaches I've tried and failed at maintaining results from. Also, as I am someone who struggles with chronic pain issues I've found everyone at ILP to be super knowledgeable about exercises to do and things to avoid, and my monthly custom program is designed with these things in mind to help not only avoid further aggravation, but actually progress toward no longer having the pain as a setback at all. All in all I highly recommend this gym to anyone who is chasing sustainable and progressive fitness goals. This place is like no other gym experience I have had. Individualized programs and the most knowledgeable staff that is always there for one on one instruction. There are always fun monthly challenges and social events. It truly is a place I look forward to going.
Two years ago, I was out of shape and all kinds of unhealthy. Since joining Iron Lion, I’ve gotten in the best shape Of my life. I competed in a gym sponsored Strength Challenge, 6 Spartan Races (with other members and Jason) and began learning BJJ. It all started with the assessment with Chris (the owner). Every month since has been challenging and has made me seek new challenges inside and outside the gym. The coolest part is that the coaches can cater my monthly program to get me ready for any event coming up.
Lastly, if you have any kind of injuries but want to get back after it, this is your place. I had double hernia surgery a while back and was back in the gym after 2 weeks with a program to rebuild my body. I credit my fast recovery to the work I put in before the surgery and was back to deadlifting double body weight in 5 months time. I see the coaches working with people with more serious injuries than mine. everyone gets stronger if they stay the course and you will have the support and knowledge to get there.
