Ditmars Playground — Attraction in New York

The best thing about this playground is the shade. Bocce, basketball, and handball courts with limited parking nearby. There is an open seating area by Steinway Street which I am sure is occupied by homeless in the evenings. The outdated playground is mainly for little ones and is nothing to brag about. The bathrooms need updating and often show the filth left by irresponsible and inebriated adults. Make sure you scope it out before sending your kids inside. There is a sprinkler here in the summer times. The staff that work here are excellent. They don't get paid enough for what the parks overnight guests leave behind. Not bad...

This is a wonderful playground. As a moon and nanny, I have taken many kids here. In the summer there is a sprinkler. There is a play area for small kids around 9 months old to 3. A bigger play area for kids 2-8. Two different swung areas for age appropriate groups.

For adults there is a tennis area and basket ball court.
