My favorite fruit stand for many years know. Incredibly affordable and good quality produce. Staff is nice and despite the space being tiny, they pack it really well with everything you would need. I live near some super overpriced "fruit markets" and Mr. Mango carries the very same things for a fraction of the price. There are also other Mr. Fruit stands that I assume are associated with Mango, but Mango is the best of all of them. Sundays are the only day where they might have slim pickings, but even then, there are so many other things they carry that you can make due. The staff is super nice and professional. And even when the store is packed, everyone is courteous to each other.
I love this place so much that over the years there have been times where something was rung up wrong and I didn't even bother to fight for a refund because all I could think about is how much of a deal I get weekly by shopping here. This place is a neighborhood gem and I encourage us all to support this...
Read moreLADIES BE AWARE!! I really liked going to Mr. Mango but I'm really disappointed with the employees. I noticed there's a grate when you get fruits/veggies outside of Mr. Mango and I had been wearing dress that day so when I looked down I noticed an employee had been looking up through the grate and when I looked down he moved away and came back to see if I was still there.
Whether or not they use that to let air into the basement for employees to package fruits and veggies, I don't want to go somewhere wondering if there's a peeping tom and that's why one or multiple of their employees uses that grate
I really hope a lot of people see this and get the word out.
Also, make sure you have a reciept because they over charge you. I bought 5 grapefruits that are 3/$2 and was charged 3.50 instead of 2.50 and the lady ahead of me had to make note to the employee that she was being overcharged as well!
Really uncomfortable...
Read moreYes yes a million times yes!! My love for Mr.Mango grows exponentially. Pro tip: get meats and non perishables at Whole Foods close by and produce and fruit at MM.
I’ve considered moving on the street so I can get the best deals on fruits and produce in Brooklyn. Yesterday I saw 3 organic fuji apples for $1 there! Whole Foods will sell $1.99 a pound at best. Sumo oranges for $1 each! Easily $3+ each at WF. Huge avocados for a dollar each. Unheard of. I like their small selection of Asian snacks and products too. They recently added a juice car and flower area and it’s lovely!!
You really cannot beat 2 packs of organic blueberries...
