So, as I sit here contemplating on what to write, I can only be the best that I can be. I worked for TACOMBI as an Operation and Support Manager 2.5 yrs ago. As the manager, I simply was the best all around manager that the entire company had. I invite anyone reading this review to go on Yelp and type TACOMBI Flatiron and see all the reviews that I was mentioned. This was the first time I dined at this particular location and I was thrown a curve when I saw my old GM from Rocco’s Tacos there as the new GM. This person commented when I was with Rocco’s that TACOMBI had nothing on Rocco’s…. And here we go!!! I saw Adam Zindani crossing the street acting like I didn’t recognize him. Overall this company while I was managing the flatiron location, my GM Daniel Guzman knew that the kitchen Head Taquero Héctor was providing Employess with illegal paperwork so that said employee can work with someone else’s legal paperwork. I saw it done more than 3 times. That being said I hold no hard feelings but I am the truth… On two health inspection I received A / A back to back, why because I have the knowledge and execution. I was fired because I was too outspoken and I stand for something, never falling for anything. This review serves as what this company is truly about; smoking mirrors, Luis Berenbau has no back bone, Adam Zindani from the famous Zindani Family is a complete FAKE who berates old employers he used to work for, Daniel Guzman is a conniving, two face insecure manager, three of a kind who do not have a single once of integrity and honor. The only person I can respect is Mr. Carlos Decosio, a straight up respectful kind VP. … but what good is that if your managers lie and use smoking mirrors. The food wasn’t flavorful as in the past when I was there, I made sure to taste everything before the day started. No sauces at the table and to be honest not what I expected. I had the fish taco which needed a bit of salt, the carnitas wasn’t flavorful, but bland, the only consistent, the cup of corn. I write this review from the heart as I stand for what is right. Solid 3⭐️, nothing more nothing less.. the company is a great concept, but some of your management team will always be second fiddle… Adam, Luis Daniel… MY NUMBERS SPEAK VOLUMES BOYS, IM STILL THE BEST!! And rest assured my million views will see what you are...
Read moreTacombi in downtown Brooklyn is one of those spots that immediately draws you in with its vibrant atmosphere and inviting setting. The décor has a fun, casual vibe with a distinctly Mexican flair, making it an enjoyable place to sit back and share a meal with friends. Its location is also a big plus—easily accessible and surrounded by the lively energy that makes Brooklyn dining such a great experience. On the service side, the staff is attentive and welcoming, which definitely adds to the overall positive impression.
That said, when it comes to the food itself, there’s room for improvement. The portions are fair for the price, which I do appreciate. It doesn’t feel like you’re being shorted, and value-wise it lines up with what you’d expect in the area. However, the flavors don’t quite deliver on the same level as the atmosphere and service. While the tacos and other dishes look appealing and are plated nicely, the taste can feel a little underwhelming—missing some of the depth and punch you might anticipate from authentic Mexican street-style food. Nothing was terrible, but nothing stood out enough to make me crave coming back solely for the food.
Another point worth mentioning is the drink selection. Tacombi only offers Lupita sodas, which feels limiting. While Lupita may be their in-house brand, it almost comes across as being pushed onto customers since there aren’t other soda options available. If you’re not a fan of Lupita’s particular flavor profile, that leaves you with little choice, which takes away from the overall dining flexibility.
All in all, Tacombi has great potential. With its charming setting, convenient location, and solid service, it sets high expectations. If the food’s flavors were elevated to match the rest of the experience, it could easily become a go-to spot. For now, it sits at a solid...
Read moreWhat a delightful restaurant! The absolute best food this side North of The Mason Dixie Line! And that moncheer, is a compliment of the highest degree! We met the manage, Fiera (sp). Great customer service. Delicious food that comforts your mind, soul and body. The corn soup comes served un a cup and explodes nice and tasty in your mouth with an assortment of spice es, sauces and a crumbled cheese. The fish taco is done to perfection and mirrored with just the right amount of authentic food. The watermelon juice is by far the best and delivers spot on as it refreshes your mouth for the next delivery of food. We di ed at their sister location off of Houston Street last night. While there we met Tiffany, the manager. A strikingly beautiful, professional and warm person as well as a great ambassador to the restaurant! We chatted about the menu and how perfect we found it to be and made her promise to please keep up the great work. As a native New Yorker oftentimes I come across restaurants always trying to out do the next establishment so much that they lose the true essence of what good food is and can be. And because of that loss of focus and love for what they once were doing they lose everything and more Anyway, Tacombi is a great place to dine and the wait staff are remarkably pleasant and versed at what they are there to do! Thank you Tacombi. Thank you Tiffany (I told you we would visit the Brooklyn location), and thank you Feire. We wish you all continued success and happiness forevermore. See you the next go...
