Traveled to New York on business and checked into this hotel for only 5 days and this was a nightmare for me as a guest of this hotel.
The first night in the hotel was fine. I left the room in the morning. When I returned to the room, late in the evening, I found my room completely cleaned, and with all my belongings. Everything I had brought to the room was in fact missing. I immediately went downstairs and contacted the front desk to find out where all my belongings had gone.
I was told that they could not help me at the moment, as it was already late, and that I should contact the front office manager in the morning of the next day. So I did.
The manager's name is Ricardo, I explained to him the whole situation that had happened to me.
He said that there was some kind of error in their system and that my room was listed as checked out and dirty. Eventually all of my belongings were disposed of and I was told that, much to their dismay, they would not be able to return my belongings to me.
Ricardo offered to compensate me for the damage caused and to refund me an amount equal to the value of the items that had been disposed of. This outcome, although it was an unpleasant experience, I consider the reimbursement of my damages to be a solution that satisfied both me as a customer of the hotel and the hotel management.
The next morning, I left again for business, and upon my return, I again discovered that this time, the hotel staff had even taken away my change of underwear and socks.
I went downstairs to the front desk and again expressed my outrage at the actions of the hotel staff, this time, they found my underwear and socks and returned them to me.
This was the last straw of my patience and I asked to arrange a meeting with the general manager of the hotel, Mr. Edriss Kessaci
The next morning, August 29, 2023, I met with Mr. Edriss Kessaci, and explained to him all the details of what had happened. Like Front Office Manager Ricardo, Mr. Edriss Kessaci asked for time to conduct an internal investigation, and once that was completed, he came back to me.
The outcome of his investigation was that they could not prove that any of my missing items even existed or were in my hotel room, effectively accusing me of lying. Mr. Edriss Kessaci told me that they did make a $50 reimbursement for my damages, despite the fact that Front Office Manager Ricardo, the previous day, had assured me that he had already applied for a $150 reimbursement, which turned out to be just a scam on his part. A "wonderful" solution that doesn't even half cover the actual items that were stolen from me.
I was outraged and asked Mr. Edriss Kessaci to cancel my stay in this hotel and make a full refund, as this stay was a real nightmare for me and caused me not only financial but also huge moral damage. I don't remember ever being as nervous as I was this time!
Mr. Edriss Kessaci, said he could not do anything like that.
I had to call the police to document this blatant abuse of me.
The police arrived and began to clarify the details of what had happened, as a result of which I was informed that it was hotel policy and that I had to deal with the hotel management.
The police unfortunately could not help me in any way.
As a result, I checked out of the hotel early and was left without my belongings and effectively without compensation for the theft of my property by the hotel staff.
The only thing left for me is to write a review about this hotel wherever I can to warn visitors against similar situations.
Dear travelers, please keep in mind that in this hotel, you can simply stay without your belongings and no one will help you in this situation.
Will I ever stay in IHG hotels? The answer is obvious.
Thank you to everyone who read this review to the end, it was a really horrible experience for me, I hope you will avoid a similar one

Ā Ā Ā Read moreNot my story but itās what a friend of mines HEARTBROKEN that the world is soooo cold but, I thank god for my super quick instant that allowed me to move so quickly in this situation. Last night around 7:30pm, I decided to wanted to do a little staycation for my lil family at Holiday Inn Brooklyn Downtown located at the Hoyt & Schermerhorn location to. I mainly wanted something quick and easy and I loved the idea that they had a pool. My daughter is 5 years old. She is non verbal autistic. She has some words but, not enough to explain what would have happened if something would have happened to us. I arrive at the hotel around 7:50pm-7:55pm to check In. The Check In Process was smooth. They took my ID and card for the incidental fees and gave me the key card. I turn to my boyfriend who was coming from the car to tell him our room number and then he realized he couldnāt find the car keys so, he left to go find the keys. Thinking nothing of it, I start making my way towards the elevator. My daughter has an obsession with lights and their bar area has a lot of LED lights so, she walks towards the bar area and I called her name and said Letās Go Baby. There was a short African man with glasses standing in the middle of the lobby thatās says to me ā Sheās just trying to explore a littleā. I smiled a little and proceeded to walk into the elevator where I greeted by this heavy set woman who was holding the elevator door open for me. She says to me ā I wish I had my kids with meā & I said ā No you donāt! You in a hotel! Live a littleā. She then proceeds to say ā You seem like a good person! Do you mind coming with me up to my room? I just donāt feel safe.ā So , I say ā Whatās wrong mamas ? You okay ? What happened ?. . I then followed up and said ā Listen let me drop my stuff to my room and Iāll come back. My intention was let me get my room so, I can just lock my door and not come back out. The girl proceeds to follow me off the elevator and walk towards my room. She stopped at my room before me and thatās when I realized soemthing was OFF! So I say to her ā You know what ! Iām gonna come with you to your room. What room you in? She never responded. She just gets excited that Iām coming with her to her room. She then takes her phone and points it in my direction to show the person she was on the phone with my face. I quickly realized that if I didnāt act quickly. This may be the last time I would have been seen. I thought quickly and said Let me call my man to her. She responds ā you gonna call ya man ? You not gonna come upstairs with me to my room?ā I said ā Let me call my man!ā By the grace of god, the elevator was going down and not up. She kept asking for me to go to the 9th floor. When me and my daughter get in the elevator, there was couple in there already and I noticed that the woman no longer was interested in talking to me anymore. Luckily, me and my daughter made it out safely to get back to my man and car but, all I could think about was what about all the women that this tactic actually worked on! Once I made it to my man, I spent the block and came back and of course the same woman was sitting in the lobby waiting for her next victim. With the same African man all standing in the same place. It was like the whole operation reset once it didnāt work with me. JUST KNOW I WENT INTO THAT HOTEL AND TURN SHIT ALL THE WAY UP! ALL HELL BROKE LOSE. I was in the lobby cursing everybody out and then I realize that the hotel staff was in on it. I was in the lobby turning up for 15-20 minutes and no one called the cops. They told me to just leave so, that they wouldnāt call the cops on me . They never made a report and they kept my money from the transaction. They told me they was gonna cancel the room but, they didnāt. I JUST WANT TO SPREAD AWARENESS because everybody may not be so lucky! STAY AWAY FROM THIS HOTEL! STAY ON YOUR Pās & Qās. KEEP YOURSELF AND YOUR...
