I can’t even begin to tell you how about horrible the gel nail service was that I received. I love getting my nails done. My usual nail salon was closed— so I came to New York Nail. I am very into beauty and understand what’s trending and how things should be done. Right off the bat, my cuticles were never cut back, just shaved off by the drill, which did absolutely nothing. My nails were then dipped into a bowl of water, which I just don’t understand why. When you get gel done, nails are supposed to be dehydrated, not hydrated. Having wet nails before get causes them to peel off. So I already knew this wasn’t going to turn out well. I wrap up my manicure, pay and tip and then go about the rest of my day. I woke up in the morning with 7 NAILS lifted and peeling off. I call back with frustration the next day and they told me to come in and they’ll fix them. (Which I did appreciate) The nail lady explained to me that it’s a new product. Btw it’s not a new product, I use this same brand and color at my other nail salon. So I then said to her that my nails were extremely wet before the first coat went on and that gel is supposed to be dehydrating your nail first. She immediately says that i’m wrong and that no one’s ever had that issue before which I find hard to believe. I can’t begin to tell you the amount of staring eyes by the other workers towards me and how they all came up to look at my nails. I was so uncomfortable. I was appreciative of the new girl that fixed my nails for free and I tipped her, even though she didn’t want to take it from me. A few days later I had to go back AGAIN for another nail that peeled off. This was all in a matter of 5 days. I had the original lady that did my nails and boy did she make me uncomfortable. I finally left and WILL NEVER go back...
Read moreAt one time this review would have not been one star, that would be about 6 mos. ago. That is also when I was talked into having gel manicures at New York Nail Lounge. I hadn't been at this salon for awhile, I could not afford to continue gel manicures. Also, my nails were not strong enough for this manicure. It literally destroyed my nails. I made a 11:00 am for today, I wanted to splurge as tomorrow I have a special occasion. I was treated kind of cold by the manicurist who used to do my nails, and I know it was because I was only having a regular manicure. At this salon it's all about making money. Their prices have gone way up and a regular manicure and pedicure, (50.00 dollars) by the way frowned upon. After my pedicure was finished I was sent to another manicurist to do. My nails never told that the manicure I made the appointment with was not going finish my mani/pedi. When I made mention of this to the owner of the salon who I can hardly understand by the way, he was like a lunatic and started yelling at me! I was literally treated like dirt today after a manicure and pedicure cost me $50 and then a tip for the girl who finished my nails all I wanted was a nice manicure and pedicure for the special occasion. I'm going to tomorrow if you don't have a lot of money to throw away for your nails, don't bother going in there if you want a regular manicure pedicure, you're going to be treated poorly, this man wants nothing but to make money he was friendly to me all the months I got a gel manicure, today. I was treated like I had the plague, horrible customer service, and customer relations. I will never walk into that...
Read moreI decided to try the waxing because they advertised $20 on half legs. Well the girl tried to charge me $25 and I asked her why if u have it advertised the price is $20. She told me because it was too hard I asked her to explain and she very rudely told me it's fine you don't have to come here. Well with that said me and my husband will not be returning to get our nails and feet done. If your going to advertise a price I suggest you stick to it, but like the girl told me I don't have to come there so I definitely won't. There are way too many places to get waxed and your nails done on Staten Island to have someone try to ripp me off and on top of that be rude,...
