It's nice, not more. Not what you expect. It's basically an ordinary Jewish cemetery in the middle of some God forsaken neighborhood past queens. Very far from the city - more than an hour drive each side, with traffic - double that. If you're a big group of more than 6 people, consider getting a cab driver to stay and wait for you. Visiting the grave of the Rabbai and saying a short prayer is more than enough time to spend there and pay your respect as a jew. 15-20 mins will definitely do.

An inspiring and powerful place to ask for blessing and to reflect at the burial site of the late Chabad Rebbe. People pay their visits here from across the world, and their are countless miracle stories that transpired after an Ohel visit. This is also the site where Chabad boys and girls traditionally announce their engagement to one another, as they ask for blessings on a prosperous life.

Not as intimidating or confusing as I thought it would be. Plenty of people to ask for help if you are unsure of what to do or how to do things. They have pens and paper if you want to write a note. They also have prayer books as well as a practical guide to the ohel for visitors that does a pretty good job of explaining the basics.

This is the resting place of the Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson of Lubavitch, a unique individual who cares for each and every one of us. The Ohel is not just a grave, it is a place of study, spiritual connection and tranquility.

The place is surrounded by a special atmosphere. Many visitors come here to write a letter to the Rebbe, to share their thoughts and requests with him. There is a special feeling of closeness and a deep connection to him.

Inside the Ohel itself, you can find the Rebbe's holy resting place. The atmosphere is intimate and quiet, allowing everyone to pray, pour out their hearts and experience a deep personal connection. Many find comfort and reassurance here.

In addition, there is a rich library where you can find the Rebbe's books, his talks and essays. And a treasure trove of holy books of all kinds. There are also minyans where you can pray.

The Ohel offers a variety of services: hot coffee and cookies, cold water and even apples... and it's all free! There is also an information desk and a 24/24 video feed of the Rebbe. The Ohel is divided into four sections: the first and second for men and women, the third and fourth for men only. In the fourth section, farbrengens and special meals are held on Shabbats and holidays, with white rice, kugel and chicken being particularly notable...

The place is open to all, regardless of religion, race or status. Visitors from all over the world come here, from ordinary people to presidents. The atmosphere is warm and loving, and the staff is always ready to help.

The Ohel is a clean and orderly place, with full security. It serves as a spiritual center where one can pray and study. Especially on important Chassidic dates, the Ohel fills with visitors from all over the world, creating a special atmosphere, and the Ohel is filled with Chassidic gatherings and the feeling of connection...

A Life-Changing Spiritual Experience 🙏

Visiting the Ohel of the Lubavitcher Rebbe was one of the most powerful and transformative experiences of my life. It's truly the best thing you can do for your soul. The moment you step into this holy place, you feel an overwhelming sense of peace, clarity, and connection.

Right after the visit, I felt that my life began to change—for the better. There’s a sense of purpose, strength, and blessing that stays with you.

The staff at the Ohel are incredibly kind and helpful. Everything is so well organized, and they make sure every visitor feels welcome and respected.

The nearby Mikveh is simply the best—super clean, beautifully maintained, and spiritually uplifting. It’s clear that everyone involved is doing a remarkable job. 👏

If you’re searching for direction, healing, or just want to elevate your spiritual life, this is the place to go....

It was tranquil and such a spiritual experience. Very tidy and well maintained placed, with wonderful cookies and lots of refreshments. You start with going to the bathroom, writing a note to the Rebbe in the lobby seating area. Then you start heading outside towards the cemetery with your note. Apart from praying at the tomb you can light a candle near it inside some glass boxes. Back in the lobby you can buy relevant books, and also give charity. Note if you don’t drive: It was such a schlep to get to, I wish they had more frequent transportation from Manhattan. It took me 3.5 hours to get to on public transport from Newark Airport with a big luggage, not to mention another while to get back to midtown Manhattan and it’s definitely not easy to get a tramp. After lots of asking around thankfully I managed to receive a ride to the nearest...
