Detoxx Bar — Restaurant in New York

Great concept and I am sure Detoxx Bar has helped many folk in the community. It’s refreshing to have a healthy option in the neighborhood, especially during the pandemic. Only reason I don’t like coming here is due to the extended wait time. Hence why I gave 3 stars and not 5 because even when I want to stop by, I remember that 30 minute wait just to get to “place my order” for something as simple as a smoothie and choose somewhere else. As wonderful as it is to get the individualized attention, it is not practical with most people’s busy schedules and is quite inconvenient.

A note to management, an approach that can help alleviate this issue is to have one staff member processing all orders (just that, nothing else): take the order, answer any questions/consult, receive payment, provide a ticket number to the customer (and one to the team preparing the orders so it’s in order), while the other staff members work on actually preparing the orders (e.g. Panera style). This way you don’t have to wait for everyone in front of you to discuss their orders (in full detail), wait for staff to prepare everything from scratch, provide taste tests to those customers, package orders, process payment etc before you even get to “place” your order. If everyone can submit order and pay one time with a ticket in hand, at least you have the assurance your order is already in queue and can quickly step away if you need to without losing your place in line.

Hopefully you can find this suggestion helpful. Although, strategy may require extra staff I think it would be worth it in the long run and truly help your business grow even further. I’m sure I am not the only customer who would appreciate shorter wait times and a smoother order/pick-up process. Woman referred to as doctor is very nasty, rude, and unapproachable. This is why its hard to support black business. I will never support that detox bar based on my experience with that unprofessional thug like woman. She was just rude to me upon entering the store after having to wait until after 10pm to get in contact with her. This was my second attempt to speak with her being she is always available so late. My previous interaction with other staff members was excellent so this was really a shocking. God see and know…smh. This lady finds a lot of excuses for her horrible behavior why would i come there for help with an attitude especially when it was for a child, i was very taken back by her attitude especially from person holding a title such as “Doctor”. The child was very disappointed. Been in there before and staff was very nice so that behavior was not excepted. If you are aggressive to someone immediately one will go in defense mode although at no point did i raise my voice or was i disrespectful. I little self reflection does not kill and you are human believe or not you can admit to having bad days and apologize.

I for one look for black businesses to support some are GREAT and unfortunately some give me the experience i received from you, aggressive and unprofessional. And if I went to the whole food store and needed help and experienced what i experienced with you i would...

Visited this place today and was hoping it was a spot I can revisit. There aren’t many places like this in my community. Unfortunately I will not go back to this establishment. I ordered a drink, ultimate detox, and was told that due to COVID they make it stronger and I had to get a large which displayed $9.50 on the board. Ok fine, received my drink and was told I had to drink it in the store. By that time there were about 10 people in the store, no social distancing. I have the gentleman $10 and didn’t receive my change, i was going to forgo it. I left the store after finishing my drinking and another customer ran after me. I went back in the store and the lady basically implied I didn’t pay. I stated the amount I gave and she told me the drink was $13. False advertisement. Reluctantly I paid the difference.
