I started off loving this place. The prices weren’t too crazy for all organic produce & pantry items, they had sales & some better priced items than Whole Foods; I loved shopping here…BUT THEN, I started noticing that the prices listed on the items weren’t matching the prices that rang up & I’d pay more than I thought. Their sales, and prices in general don’t ring up correctly in the system. So many times, I had seen raspberries or tomato cartons on sale for 3.99-4.99, and I ended up paying 5.99 which is usually the regular price. The worst incidences I experienced were when there was a flyer in the freezer section for “buy 6 or more freezer items, get 10% off those items”, and that deal didn’t ring up so I paid full price for all those items. The second worse was when I bought Bobs Red Milk Egg Replacement(vegan), it was listed as $5.49(I always check to make sure the item is stocked where the item price is listed to avoid confusion on my end), and I was charged 8.49 on my receipt!!!! This item is $4.49-4.99 everywhere else, even Whole Foods. Many times nuts, rices, and beans from the bulk self-serve section have rang up incorrectly on the receipt as well, along with tomato sauces, Coconut Aminos Gochujang, and more. The first few times this happened, I was like well it’s okay because the mismarked items balanced out, since some items actually rang up less than their listed prices, but after so Amy times of this happening and me getting overcharged plus the freezer and egg replacement incident, my husband and I started checking our receipt in the parking lot to make sure we were charged correctly. Customers shouldn’t have to do that. We stopped having issues so we stopped checking, and of course the times we didn’t check, we got overcharged. This store has taken at least an extra $20 dollars from my family from improperly either listing the prices or not updating the prices/ sales in the system. This leads me to believe it’s from poor management and is really bad business practice. I will take my $100+ weekly grocery trips...
Read moreAll organic produce is a great start. Exotic tropical organic fruit appears in season too.
The selection of all items is considerable. Some examples, a wall full of just seaweeds, a whole shelf of just liquid vitamins. Lots of selections in frozen vegetables, berries and exotic ice creams. Lots of dried organic grain too.
Fancy organic treats like Austrian pumpkin seeds or specialty chocolates.
Supplements are well stocked too, but it is not a discount place.
A Chinese style vegetarian kitchen to take out or eat in. The food sells fast. A juice bar with treats like watermelon juice and the obligatory green grass juice, etc.
Leaf teas or in bags are located in a two sided long dedicated shelf. Similar variety for natural cleaning products.
Also, for the supplements, advice from Maria is solid and never pushy or trying to steer you to the most expensive items either. Lots of health reference books to use or buy too.
For the meat eater, their "Natural Meats" sister store a few doors down has fresh wild fish which I enjoyed. Also organic chicken and other meats.
A larger store with more room and more parking would be the logical next step for the store if I had something...
Read moreI have been shopping at this store for nearly 30 years, visiting once a week, sometimes twice. However, last week, while I was looking for a particular produce item for a new recipe, I had an unpleasant encounter with one of the cashiers who was extremely rude to me. This caught me by surprise because I have always treated everyone at the store with respect, and they have reciprocated this respect in kind.
I expressed my concern to the cashier, explaining that such behavior was uncalled for, and she should not have treated me rudely. Unfortunately, she did not offer an apology; instead, she insisted that she hadn't acted rudely at all. Since then, another cashier has also been curt with me.
I find it difficult to comprehend how my 30 years of being a loyal customer who has consistently treated everyone with respect doesn't seem to matter, while the rude behavior of the other cashier appears to be tolerated. Regrettably, I will have to consider shopping elsewhere, as I believe in spending my money where I am treated with respect. I must commend Diana, who has consistently been kind to all...
