A Culinary Oasis in JFK's Terminal 5: New York Sports Club Restaurant Review âââââ
In the hustle and bustle of JFK's Terminal 5, I chanced upon the New York Sports Club Restaurant for a quick lunch, and what a delightful experience it was! Here's a detailed lowdown of my visit:
The Staff: Truly the heroes of the day! They were incredibly courteous and professional and went above and beyond when I hit a snag with the mobile ordering system. It might've been a tech glitch, but two waiters pitched in to ensure I could place my order. The patience and customer-first attitude displayed by them were commendable.
Ambiance: Clean tables, a neat setting, and plenty of HD TV monitors created a pleasing environment. You can tell they've put thought into the dĂ©cor â it's warm, inviting, and makes the wait for your flight infinitely more enjoyable.
The Food: Ah, the star of my visit! I ordered the Baby Arugula Salad, and let me say - it was divine. The salad was made of a harmonious mix of strawberries, candied pecans, and crumbled goat cheese, coupled with a drizzle of olive oil, red wine vinegar, and a balsamic glaze. It's a flavor medley that dances on your tongue and is surprisingly filling, seeing me through my subsequent 3-hour flight.
Service: Swift and efficient. My food arrived promptly after ordering, and this quick service is a boon in the world of airports!
A Tiny Glitch: The mandatory mobile ordering system was the only slight hiccup in an otherwise delightful experience. The software seemed a tad convoluted, and I wasn't the only one facing issues. I'd suggest they either provide a more straightforward platform or have an alternative method for the less tech-savvy among us.
In conclusion, if you find yourself in JFK's Terminal 5 craving a delightful meal and heartwarming service, the New York Sports Club Restaurant should be your pit stop. I highly...
Read moreThe bar was packed to the credit of the staff who were bustling around. There was a small table sign that was almost turned around backwards that told people to wait to be seated. The hostess was in the back of the bar and couldnât be seen from the front, so people either sat themselves effectively cutting in line or had to go and find the hostess to be seated which ate up 5-10 minutes of time. I would recommend putting the hostess in the front where everyone enters so the host doesnât have to keep chasing people down. It didnât feel like there were enough servers for the volume of individuals in the facility, but the service as a whole was spotty. It took us 18 minutes and me asking for a server to see us to take our order and an additional 40 minutes to get our food. Our plane was boarding so we had to eat in under 5 minutes. Food was nothing to write home about. I received one slice of tomato on my hamburger, the âmediumâ burger patty was definitely more âwell doneâ, the French fries appeared to have come out of a frozen bag as opposed to fresh as they were squishy and tasteless, they gave us ketchup packets instead of a bottle which led us to needing to find a server to ask for more packets, and we didnât receive utensils or napkins. Definitely overpaid for the quality of the food. Quantity of food was relatively fair. A single 16 oz beer cost $11 - however, that may be airport wide. I asked for the check when we ordered and that is the only reason we were able to eat and pay before leaving. Finally, the manager seemed more interested in watching the football games than actually checking on his own staff or patrons. This place really needs a lot of work - would recommend...
Read moreWorst service Iâve had in pretty much every aspect. We were waiting to be seated and the hostess was on her phone and chatting with her co-workers. After waiting 5 minutes, I just seated myself. Took a while to get seen (it was busy, I donât mind a little wait) but then when the waitress came over she didnât even really seem to be listening. This was proven when my boyfriend never got one of the things (his main entree) he ordered. Again, we just kinda let this go, he said he wasnât that hungry and he didnât mind so we didnât even mention it. She never refilled our water (good thing I had a water bottle). Then I spilled my water (oops) and it was dripping off the table onto my boyfriendâs lap. We tried to contain it with our placemats until she came back over again. I asked her for the check and a rag and then I pointed out the mess. You would think that would be the first thing she would take care of (as it was dripping onto my boyfriendâs lap), but no she left and gave other tables their drinks and checks and took their orders and we never saw even a napkin. I got up to ask someone else for one and a different waiter I spoke to told me to tell my waitress and I said I did but I really just need something to wipe this up and he just turned around and walked away. My food was good, my boyfriend liked most of what he got, the service was just bad enough to really sour the...
