Lotus Laundromat — Attraction in Newark

I used to have a great experience with Lotus Laundry over the years, but unfortunately, their service has declined significantly. Recently, there have been too many issues with scheduling and delivery. While the washing service was never the best, I chose to continue supporting the business—until now.

Earlier this week, I scheduled a pickup, but no one showed up, and I received no communication. Giving them the benefit of the doubt, I emailed them to let them know what happened and rescheduled for Wednesday morning. Once again, no one showed up. When I finally called, I was told that no drivers were available. If that was the case, why wasn’t there at least a courtesy call or text to inform me? Instead, the person on the phone suggested I just bring my laundry in and wash it myself. If I wanted to do that, I obviously wouldn’t be paying for a pickup and drop-off service. When I pointed this out, I was met with silence.

At that point, I decided to move on. With a quick search, I found another laundry service in my area that offers pickup and drop-off and scheduled my service with no issues. Hopefully, this new business is more professional!

I tried to support this black woman owned business. I attempted to gets coins prior to sending my daughter to wash the laundry seing as the way we do things in my home is I break down the coins per load for her to make it less tedious and she goes to the laundromat and does the loads, she is learning money management. Well I wasn't allowed to retrieve my coins and the owner literally blocked the machine and argued with me telling me to give her the money and send my child to her to retrieve the coins when she arrived, i do not know this woman why would i hand her my money. I was literally turned away twice and told that I should do things differently than how I do them in my home in order to use her laundromat. It was extremely disappointing and volatile and something I've never experienced at ANY OTHER COIN BASED LAUNDROMAT. Which is the presence while I'm teaching my child gosehold management. Came here last Sunday around 1:30pm & it was pretty crowded. I left out at a decent time & was surprised lol the machines are very affordable 👌🏾 I like the extra rinse & heavy duty options ☺️ my clothes came out so clean & so fresh fresh! Clothes dried quickly & thoroughly as well. Very clean place but might I suggest placing soap in bathroom, along with toilet paper? Just saying.
