Class of 47 — Restaurant in Newport Beach

So I went here the other night to have a few drinks before all the bars closed. I’ve been here before and loved the environment, but this time was absolutely terrible. The bartender that was working on a Saturday including the rest of her team were the most rude, disrespectful, and unwelcoming team I have ever met. The bartender was an older skinnier lady with a fake flower in her hair. She made backhanded comments while our group was trying to order drinks. We were nothing but respectful throughout the whole night she constantly made us feel like we were bothering her when all we were doing was ordering drinks. Every time we ordered she would make sly remarks that were backhanded and just straight up rude. As for her team, they were very aggressive and power hungry. I think this whole group of workers just genuinely treat people who normally don’t come into this bar as a nuisance. I think if you are someone who doesn’t know them personally they will treat you like trash. We went out in such a good mood and ended up feeling awkward and disrespected. I wouldn’t recommend coming here, if you are looking for a fun spot to enjoy causal drinks with your friends. I’m being nice leaving one star negative reviews don’t amount to the experience we had....

Don't look young or like a tourist if you come into this bar. My group got let in by the initial bouncer and bartender and then upon reordering drinks my wife and her friend (we are all almost 30)got denied drinks for being "underage" and the new bartender started showing the card to random bar-goers. They claimed they had to be "careful" because cops come into the bar often(I guess they can't invest in a ID card scanner). And made even more ironic because I saw the new bouncer and bartenders take shots before their shift started. I guess that's what "adults" act like. Unfortunate and disappointing end...

Stopped by here with the quickest intentions of using the bathroom and buying a quick drink in exchange. Ended up staying for a while. Great selection! Awesome dive bar with 2 pool tables! Most importantly, AMAZING SERVICE. The bartender Joe has to be one of the nicest I’ve come across in a very long time. He was generous with his pours and even let us sample some newer stuff. Like screwball—definitely try by the way. Great conversation and every other patron seemed to know and love him. Unique and laid back atmosphere! Would definitely go back and highly recommend!
