Balboa Bakery & Deli & Donuts — Restaurant in Newport Beach

Went in to buy the kids a treat after whale watching and as soon as you walk in they expect you to order. "Uhm! Can I have a minute please? " It's like the soup nazi episode on Seinfeld where you have to have your order ready and you cant's smile, make conversation, small talk or anything or you'll upset the soup nazi.

Anyway the place is large for a sweets shop and kinda has a feel like a mini food court so I wasn't even sure if the two sides where even the same business. The kids decided what they wanted and we ordered he rudely gave us our ice cream and sent us on our way charging us an extra 50 cents for using our debit card.

Never again! The ice cream is not even made in house...

Went on a busy Friday night (12/15) for a snack before getting in a boat tour. Ordered onion rings, French fries and a Thai Ice tea. The order took ~ 20 min and when asked for more ketchup, the person said "you already have some' there were two packets in the bag and we wanted more. When asked again, the person again said 'you have some'. No napkins were in the bag. And instead of getting a Thai iced tea, we were given a Chai iced tea. The food was hot and tasted ok, and the tea was good, but not what we ordered. The service was unbelievable- especially at such a popular location. Hopefully just a bad night. The WORST experience I've ever had at a restaurant. The lady at the front had no idea what she was doing, very disorganized and very RUDE. They charged me for my order & didn't give me all my food and I stayed arguing with the cook & cashier about giving me my food or money back. And they DID NOT give me my money back. They did not give out any receipts & when we asked to pull them out they acted stupid as hell! The food was not worth it, overpriced and gross.
