Green space at the beach, who woulda thought? Here’s a really nice place for groups to gather and play ball, or most any field sports. Some designated areas may need a person of authority to provide access for reserved group activities. Otherwise, an informal attempt to play or picnic in open areas by a few friends or do a self workout may go unnoticed, unless superseded by those with paperwork. There’s benches, picnic tables, trash containers and the nearby Balboa Beach restrooms. The ocean breeze blows across the park, so physical activities are always cool to do here! Parking isn’t much of a problem on weekdays, tho weekends do get more crowded at the beach lots. If there’s a lack of parking space next to the field, I’d look to park a block or two over with street parking, pending restrictions.
