Balboa Peninsula Park — Attraction in Newport Beach

Green space at the beach, who woulda thought? Here’s a really nice place for groups to gather and play ball, or most any field sports. Some designated areas may need a person of authority to provide access for reserved group activities. Otherwise, an informal attempt to play or picnic in open areas by a few friends or do a self workout may go unnoticed, unless superseded by those with paperwork. There’s benches, picnic tables, trash containers and the nearby Balboa Beach restrooms. The ocean breeze blows across the park, so physical activities are always cool to do here! Parking isn’t much of a problem on weekdays, tho weekends do get more crowded at the beach lots. If there’s a lack of parking space next to the field, I’d look to park a block or two over with street parking, pending...

The biggest problem here People SMOKING, VAPING, LITTERING, Polluting our environment & our beautiful beaches. There are NO SMOKING signs at all our beaches & piers. NO SMOKING On the beaches & Piers & NO SMOKING WITHIN 100 FEET of the beaches & Piers. Please everyone I know you all love these places & I know you want them to be beautiful that's why you go there. Something needs to be done about the parking situation but what is to be expected on 4th of July holiday? Jokes aside, I enjoy the fact that there was ample effort to keep the beach clean. However could really use some more privacy in those bathrooms!! That's why I couldn't give it the full 5 stars. Much has to be said about the friendliness of the lifeguards and the rest of the staff. There are simply so much to do here from shopping to the food choices that are conveniently close. I can't say anything about the prices around in that area because I have had plenty of snacks for myself and my family haha....
