Balboa Saloon — Restaurant in Newport Beach

Came here for my 25th birthday This place is One of the WORST experiences I have ever had !!! never have I been to such an unprofessional place or had to deal with racism the way we were treated as soon as we walked in was ridiculous this is my first time ever having to write a bad review the bartender (old man) was very rude and obviously drunk since we seen him taking shots of alcohol (that might explain his odd behavior ) when I accidentally dropped a drink on the ground, we kindly told the bartender that we accidentally spilled a drink on the ground the bartender then gets in my boyfriends face and says “what do you want me to pick it up or what “ then continues his aggressive behavior when we tried explaining to him that we were just letting them know so no one will slip and fall and that we are unable to clean up because we obviously don’t work there and don’t have the supplies to clean the spill up smh the bartender then starts threatening my boyfriend with fighting him the owner (also drunk and also gets aggressive with us ) then kicks us out while he was just sitting there watching the whole thing he obviously sees the way they treat customers and he supports it I don’t understand how they can treat people differently just because they are not from around there hope this place...

Me and my hubby been docking boats or ferry-hopping our bikes to Balboa saloon since the seventies. Half the year we live in Newport, half Montana-where whiskey still hollers your name out there. This here's our bar, our heartbeat. Fourth we light it up, holidays on lock, pool tables bruised from our elbows, salt and lager thick as perfume. Ensenada-Newport race? Honey, we command this place like pirates. The Owner finally did somethin' right-floor don't grab my flip-flops, somebody's moppin'! Jeff's still king behind the bar, new gals laugh real, pour cold, TVs sharp as knives. Only hitch-get Cruisers to wing it over so we quit dodgin' Death Trap Balboa Boulevard. Five stars, fat tip, and girl-we're bringin' every neighbor, every sunburned neighbor's dog, every salty soul we love down here to share the buzz we just...

HORRIBLE!! 25th birthday. I left my wallet in the car, my uncle went to go get it for me...the parking lot is right across the street‍ the bartender( a woman) literally YELLED at my nana ...a 72 year old woman. About me having to be outside because she can get a fine...okay I was walking outside no problem I understand. But as I was walking the lady still decided to yell and disrespect my Nana. My nana raised her hand up in defense like i'm sorry we were doing what you asked, the woman bartender said " lady don't raise your hand at me" are you dang kidding?? I was walking outside within the 2 seconds you think an officer is going to stop by(like I said i was walking outside still...I FOLLOW rules) needless to say we went to the bar across...
