Milk & Cookies — Attraction in Newport Beach

First things first. PUSH the door to get in and PULL the door to get out. We all struggled with that :-)

We just happened to stumble upon this place after stuffing our faces at Hook and Anchor and then walking Newport Beach. We all decided we could use a little dessert.

We all filed in to the small dessert place and we’re greeted with smiles. The employees explained to us how we could get a warm cookie with a scoop of ice cream on top. At that point, I was ready to hand over my credit card. Say no more and take my money!

There were so many good choices, so it took us a minute to decide. The employees were great with answering any questions we had about the I’ve cream flavors.

I ordered the cookie butter ice cream with a toffee cookie and I couldn’t be happier with my decision. The flavors were on point and the serving size was perfect.

One of the reasons I liked going to this establishment is because they have gluten-free cookies and dairy-free ice cream. Tonight, we arrived just in time to get the last two…or should I say one gluten-free cookie. You see, when they opened my bag of cookies to put them into a cup with my ice cream, they dropped one on the floor. That sucked a little, but not as much as the worker’s dishonesty. I saw the one who dropped it give the worker at the register that look of “oh s**t”, and instead of calling her fowl, they proceeded to charge us full price and act like nothing happened. I had to call them out on it, and they ended up claiming the refund will show up on our card. Of course, given their level of dishonesty and not caring for their work, I won’t...

One would believe that a biz that calls itself "Milk and Cookies" would have stellar ice cream and cookies. They don't. We were disappointed. The Brown Butter ice cream was grainy, the vanilla was fine - good flavor and consistency. But what was supposed to be a "warm" toffee cookie was not. It was rather hard and cooled off far too quickly to have ever been warmed. My husband didn't make any comment about the snickerdoodles; so they must have been ok. I think the long queues are because the queues at the other two nearby ice cream businesses are even longer. Lucky for them they catch...
