Fittingly, I stumbled upon the Virginia War Museum on Memorial Day. I initially visited the memorial park outside in the immediate vicinity of the Museum building, and then wandered inside. Plan to spend 1-2 hours on site to do this museum justice. The outside park area includes a holocaust Memorial, and a number of predominantly naval memorials. Read moreWhat a great museum to walk you through the history of United States war throughout the years. Great unique artifacts from each time period. Plan on being there a couple of hours to get the true experience. We got there around 2:30, and felt rushed towards the end to make sure we had read everything by the time the doors closed at 4:30. Could have spent another hour checking out the exhibits and reading about the displays. Outside there were many other items, but we did not get a chance to see them. $20 for a family of 5 for the museum is a...
