For years, people have told me that I need to go to whataburger because they have the best burgers in the area. I finally went and I have to say that this was the WORSE burger I’ve ever had. First, I had to wait for over 35 minutes for just a burger and shake. When I walked in, there were about 10 people standing in that tiny kitchen and only one person was actually doing anything. There were only 4 or 5 people waiting for food , so it wasn’t that busy. Second, the patty on this burger looked like it was sitting under a heat lamp for hours before it was put on the bun, but it was cooked to order so I’m not sure how they ruined it so bad. The meat patty tasted like leather. Third, the waiting area could use some cleaning and new paint. It just seemed really dirty. I’ve been disappointed by a meal before, but no meal has ever actually made me angry. This one did. I think I was angry mostly because I had to wait so long for this trash. I usually give a new place a second chance but this burger was so bad that there is no way I can ever eat there again.

Sadly, this experience failed to impress. The food was mediocre. I ordered a burger, hot dogs, bbq, and tots. The round tots were okay, just lacking flavor; most of the meal lacked flavor. The hamburger was soft and mushy. The cheese sauce was worse than 7-11; maybe that helped runion my meal. The best item was the BBQ, yet it looked very pink. I even got the Georgia peach shake. The server claimed it had real peaches; however, my taste buds never found the real peach taste. The shake was okay; I didn't even finish it. The order was correct and created in a timely fashion. I was there at closing, but that's not a good reason for bad food. After ordering, I wanted some ice, so I stood at the space to order. The server would not make eye contact; he walked past, looked around at nothing until I said, "Hi."Then he looked up and waited on me. That was odd. Also the restaurant could use a deep cleaning in the standing area.

This place is a no nonsense burger joint, and it's a treasure to all who have lived here a while. I grew up with their burgers and they always taste amazing, no big fat burgers you can't even wrap your mouth around, they're wide the way a burger should be and they're incredibly delicious. It isn't often I'm this far out to get them, but when I'm heading this direction you bet your boots I'm stopping there for some cheeseburgers all-the-way!

A really great local spot where they haven't changed a bit since they opened and that gives it all the more charm. The juxtaposition of the building itself set against the constantly growing Hampton roads makes it feel like you're pulling into a time capsule, isolated from fleeting trends and expansion. Inside you'll hear casual conversation between patrons who share nothing in common other than their love for local food, the hum a of an AC unit, and the sizzle if the griddle. What you'll find missing is the electronic atmosphere you'll find in every other building that serves a hamburger. No up tempo music playing over speakers, no TV playing the news or talk show, and not even in the kitchen is there a beep or alarm. No timer indicating when to flip a burger or pull the fries out. Not even an electric point of sale, that job is fulfilled by a notebook. All this to not even mention the food. They serve burgers. You will receive a burger cooked by someone who's been cooking burgers for years. They are timeless. They are the standard. Don't expect the coolest new thing in sauces or toppings formally only found along the silk road in the far east. The burgers are a little extra wide, buns to match, so you won't be struggling to for every ingredient in one bite. Just grab a cheeseburger with everything on it, some fries, and maybe a milk shake. You won't be...

I came to WHATABURGER to place an order for one of the delivery services I contract for. The older lady at the window was so rude as if I was wrong for ordering what was placed in the app. I was just reading off what it said and she was snappy with me because what was in the app order did not match with the menu they have. Now, I do not eat from them (I am a pescatarian, so I am not familiar with the menu). I only ordered what was showing in the app. Anywho, she could have been a bit nicer once I let her know that I was only ordering what was listed from my end. Just rude. I called the customer to let her know that her order she placed was not possible because they did not offer half the item's she placed. Thank goodness she understood the confusion and was very polite about the situation. Some people are just evil people. Maybe the heat had a bit flustered but, still no excuse to be so rude. Thank goodness I do not spend my money there at anytime because today they would have lost a customer. But they did lose one after I let the customer know of the way she responded to me trying to place her order.. Keep your 🍔. It's killing...

I placed a pick up order through the DoorDash app. On the way there, my baby fell asleep. I called the restaurant to ask if someone could bring the food out to my car. The DoorDash app sends me a notification saying it’s ready and I even parked in front of the door so someone could hand it to me. The person I spoke with was really nice (at first) and had no issue with bringing it out. An hour goes by and my food wasn’t out, so I called back. When I called back another employee answered the phone and wasn’t aware of what I asked earlier so he gave the phone back to the person I spoke with prior. I was placed on hold but I hear the two employees talking and I hear the guy I spoke with the first time I called say “well she can come inside, she see we are busy”… and then the phone hangs up. They were not busy whatsoever. I knew my food was already done. So I ended up going inside and my food was soggy and disgusting. Horrible customer service and I’m never spending my money there again. I even tipped the staff as well. If it was a big issue to have my food brought out to my car, I would’ve just went into the restaurant in the...
