Fellow shoppers , is TJ Maxx store in Newton MA selling FAKE merchandise? About two (2) months ago one of my co worker recommended purchase name brand handbags (discounted price) from TJ Maxx for a surprise gift that I was planning for my wife. Awesome, spend $1900 on a YSL handbag, originally marked over $2700. Fast forward to three (3) weeks from today’s date. I heard there are scamers whose purchasing name brand handbags from TJ Maxx, Marshall’s and other Outlet stores and then returning with replicas made in China and or other countries? Remind you that I am not a professional shopper who could tell a difference between replica and or original. I spoke with my wife explained my situation about the purchase, made collective decision to return. Luckily, that very handbag was not used by my wife, it was in a same condition when it left the stores. E.g. stickers attached, price tags, little temper alert red module and etc. Drove over to TJ Maxx store in Newton MA, stood in line, sale associate did not greet or smile, informed our intentions for return. Sale associate took the handbag over to a (behind the register) bench, came back after few minutes took the original receipt, then came back again to get a scanner (left at register) type of instrument, then she called another person to examined the handbag. After approximately ten (10) minutes of waiting at the register my wife finally asked is there a problem with a return? Sale associate rudely replied to my wife “you here for a return? Right?” Before, my wife could respond I jumped in said we would like to speak to a manager. After one (1) minute another person wearing a badge store manager B. Pike. I explained we need to return this handbag, before we could inform our true intention. B. Pike replied, “sorry for the inconvenience, this store in particular dealt with situations where customer have returned replicas of original name brand handbags, I’m not stating you are the doing same,” my wife and I were shocked to hear the store manager confirming our doubts... The reason for two (2) stars review because, the sale associate during the fifteen (15) minutes discussion, continues to argue with my wife despite her manager standing next repeatedly stating “be nice.” Thank you for taking the time to read this review, we leave with this suggestion, should retailers must invest in providing certificate of...
Read moreZero stars for Neriman and a punky college kid. I forget his name - maybe Andrew? He was one of the cashiers and needs a serious life lesson in customer service, which he hasn't been taught yet. I was told prior to coming to the store I would be able to get a store credit for one t-shirt and that my purchase receipt can be tracked, since I didn't have that with me. I later found out I was misinformed, but the attitude of Neriman was beyond unacceptable and unprofessional. Her tone and attitude were vile and she even said "You bought this yesterday but already lost the receipt?!?!" That is quite strange for someone who I don't know to sound so unnecessarily judgmental and atrocious. I then stood up for myself and told her she was being rude and this is no way to speak to any customer.
Since the college kid is young and lacks real experience, he defended Neriman and gave me weird attitude, just to look good in front of her, but other staff did not, including Sam and a few other female employees, who all told me Neriman has this reputation. I spoke with one of Neriman and Andrew's supervisors named David, who was a good listener and called this experience "disgusting." He did not follow up with me as he had promised, but I did find out this situation was dealt with involving the higher ups. David also said Neriman has a track record for unprofessional behavior and that Andrew's behavior was also unacceptable and inappropriate. While I was talking to David about this situation, a few female employees near us looked at me and gave me knowing nods, like they "get it," further validating the need for this review. Again, Neriman and Andrew are terrible with people and they are such a sad representation...
Read moreI recently had a deeply unpleasant experience while shopping at TJ Maxx, primarily due to the abhorrent customer service and unnecessary surveillance I encountered during my visit. My intention was to purchase a simple pink Barbie outfit, but the entire ordeal left me feeling uncomfortable and frustrated.
First and foremost, the customer service at TJ Maxx was utterly disappointing. As soon as I stepped foot into the store, I noticed that the staff seemed disinterested and unhelpful. Moreover, what was even more distressing was the way I was constantly being followed around by the store's employees for no apparent reason. It's an invasion of privacy and creates an uncomfortable shopping experience. I am a law-abiding customer with no history misbehavior, yet it seemed like I was presumed guilty of some wrongdoing solely based on my appearance. This type of profiling is unacceptable and offensive. The most baffling aspect of this ordeal is that I was simply looking for a pink clothes. I wasn't acting suspiciously or drawing attention to myself, yet I was continuously monitored like a criminal. This not only made me feel unwelcome but also ruined what should have been an enjoyable shopping experience.
As a loyal customer who has spent both time and money at TJ Maxx in the past, I am deeply disappointed and offended by their treatment. It's crucial for the company to reevaluate its policies, train its staff better, and treat all customers with respect and dignity. Until then, I cannot recommend TJ Maxx as a suitable shopping...
