The Toy Tree — Attraction in Newtown

The staff was awesome and SO helpful! My kids told me-at the last minute, 2 weeks before Xmas 2020,-that they wanted Peppa pig stuffies, and not one bookstore, toy store, big box, gift shop, craft store, or grocery Store within an hour of my home had ANY! I tried to order online but post office delays resulted in a shipping date well after Xmas, so as a last ditch effort to be the cool mom I called the toy tree-over an hour from my home and they not only had a peppa, but also a George and were so kind to hold for me! I bought an overpriced pair of cheap sunglasses at the Toy Tree in Newtown and after one wearing one of the arms became very stiff. Rather than break them, I tried to exchange them. Unfortunately, I didn’t have a receipt or proof of purchase. Okay, but the clerk then said, “Besides they’re scratched.” It was a smudge which came right off. I resent being treated like I was trying to pull a fast one or that I was unethical. I’ll find somewhere else to...

Prices are higher than big box but the staff is very helpful and the gift wrapping at no charge is a great service - we like supporting local and process are definitely fair. Selection is really good for a smaller gift store - definitely geared towards children with inside and outdoor play options. Good balance of boy/girl selections. Has some Lego options available....
