Twelve Mile Swamp Conservation Area — Attraction in Nocatee

Decent place to walk if you live in or visit the area and need a quick getaway from all the houses/cars. Otherwise, not worth making a trip out specifically. Not the most scenic area, but it’s nature close by. Slight road noise but nothing too bad at all. Very few people. Lots of trees, swamp, and no shade in the middle of the day. Well maintained on an old forestry road. If you’re not familiar with the area, there isn’t any signage except posted no trespassing. Couldn’t find a map on site. What a disappointment. I have been looking for places to enjoy nature that are not the beach, but this “conservation area” is extremely misleading. It’s a logging trail. The trail is not well marked nor cleared. It is not scenic and you can hear traffic and train horns the whole walk. You can literally see traffic at one point in the walk. This conservation area provides a very enjoyable nature walk; however, don't expect to see a lot of wild life. There are two trails - one off of State Route 16 that is less than a mile long and one off of International Golf Parkway near US 1 that is 2.8 miles long.
