Mi Calavera Latin Store & Butcher Shop — Attraction in Norfolk

Racist. Me (black) and my white husband went in and was charged $12.00 for 3 bundles of cilantro and 2 counter candies. The 2nd cashier even looked surprised and smirked at the one who said the price. The sad part was they didn't even have what I wanted. I just didn't want to leave without giving them some business. I feel stupid for paying and not just walking away. To the owner's reply: Then why did a customer leave the store behind us and apologize and asked why did I still pay them? It was cilantro! $12 for cilantro? How is that a fair price? If you saw the interaction it was so obvious. The person who rang me up was cut off quickly by another girl just as she was about to give us the price. When the girl said the new price, my cashier looked at her with surprise and then they smirked at each other. It was so obvious the people in line even noticed. Great shop for everything you need. The woman working was SO nice and helpful, she helped me pick out different candies to add and everything. I’m putting together a care package for a friend that is currently stationed in Japan, and she misses all of her Latin snacks. I went in blind only with two ideas of what she likes, and ended up with a huge bag of goodies!! I’m so excited to send these off to her & to come back and explore for myself....

Chingasumadre!!! Finally I found a carnicería with items I was looking for! It's so hard to find cuts of meats that no shop in my area has heard of. They have a wide variety of items for purchase as well. Not just Mexican, but all the latin countries. Make sure when you do come by, bring some help to help you load all your groceries from your car. 10 out of 10 I'll be back! And I finally got to eat cake for my birthday!...
