Worst comic book store iv ever been too. The staff was rude. There were boxes everywhere that I couldn't look through what I wanted and when I started browsing a box that was sitting on a table near the counter I was told I couldn't look through that box because those are tomorrow's comics. Don't leave them out with other comics if I can't look through them. This was my second time at this store the first time they promised to call me back later that day and let me know if any of their other locations had a specific comic in stock. They never called me back and when I went in there today they gave me a bs excuse that they were doing inventory and didn't have time to call the other stores to see if they had it in stock. Please go to a comic shop that respects their customers.
EDIT: Thank you very much for the professional response. I really appreciate the offer. I was a little put off when I first got to the store because Google said you guys opened at 1pm but when I called the workers said they opened at 1:30pm so I waited outside in the rain for 10 min. I was looking for the issue go go power rangers #6. I do not live in Bloomington and just happened to be up there last week and today for business when I stopped in. Please shoot me an email at dakotalee24@gmail.com and let me know if any of your locations have this issue. Also I want to note that I completely understand that I was not allowed to veiw those comics because of the street date. However, they were not marked as so and they were in a open box that appeared to be for sale with other comics in similar boxes near by so I had no way of knowing and the worker got uncomfortablely close to me when he told me I was not allowed to look...
Read moreSpent somewhere close to $150 buying back issues, a couple new comics and a few other items. It's a very nicely organized store, with a great selection of comics, figurines and collectibles. They didn't have the newest issue of a very mainstream book, which left me quite disappointed, especially since I drove over 50 miles to come to that store, but I understand sometimes that happens. They did let me know they'd be happy to order a copy for me or start a pull list but after explaining my work situation that keeps me on the road constantly they became aware how that wouldn't work for me. However I felt I was rushed out of the store immediately after paying for my items, because they were more concerned about getting the pulled items for their regular customer who was in line behind me, in fact before my credit card payment had been fully processed, the gentleman behind the counter had moved on and was talking with the other customer over my shoulder. There was only me and the other customer in the store at that time. Based on this I'm not sure this is a place I will make an effort to return to ever again, though it does seem like a decent shop to frequent, especially if you are a...
Read moreWhile I've read a few books in years past, I've only been really interested in comic books for the last few months. I was a little intimidated about going to a new store and begin learning more about them. I was pleasantly surprised at the organization of GCC. It didn't take me long to find exactly what I was looking for. I've had great experiences with both employees that I've spoken to. I've placed a few orders through the store, while one was delivered within 2 days, the others have yet to arrive after over a week. Honestly, this isn't a problem with me at all. I bring it up because I wanted to point out an employee's attempt to compensate me for my wait. I went yesterday to pick up some new issues, and the employee recognized my name and mentioned that he's still waiting on my orders to arrive. There was another issue I needed to order, and the employee offered to comp the issue for me due to my wait on my other orders. Completely unnecessary, but greatly appreciated! I feel like these guys try to do right by their customers and fellow book fans. I definitely plan on buying through GCC in Normal on everything I want...
