The Pork Lo Mein had a rubbery/ dry no sauce texture, really dry, and had minimal meat—i had to hunt for meat and it was very low grade pork. For how expensive The menu is I expect quality / portions of ingredients to match. That is not the case. The noodles were unseasoned , they were hot and freshly cooked though. The seasoning was in the pork which again there was very little to none of. The egg drop soup had a burnt flavor. On a positive note, the egg rolls and crab rangoon were delightful, and they came with a small serving of sweet and sour sauce. It seems their strength lies in their more traditional dishes; if I return, I'll explore other menu options. Overall, my dining experience left me very disappointed, and I didn't finish much of my meal. Photos below are the plain noodles lacking meat and seasoning. $23 for one meal, including a forced service fee charged by the company. I actually don’t know if I’ll be back. Very very...

My wife and I were told that there are NO decent Chinese restaurants in BloNo, so when we ordered takeout from Sichuan, we set the bar VERY low. We were floored at how amazing our food was. We ordered the spicy dumplings, string bean entree, and cashew chicken. All three were outstanding, rivaling the very best sit-down Chinese we've had in Chicago and LA. The dumplings were clearly made from scratch, and the spicy peanut-based sauce was complex and flavorful. The string bean entree was spicy, but not overpowering (unless you catch a small piece of red chili) and the beans had a pleasant smoky flavor which made both of us believe that they were cooked carefully over an open fire. The cashew chicken was also quite good, very mild - but not bland. We will absolutely order from here again, and we can't wait to try something else from the extensive menu. If a sixth star was available, we would have...

I dined in once several years ago and never wrote a review, so I couldn't quite remember what I thought. So I went ahead and tried carry out (they still aren't open for indoor service). I had a GREAT experience. My favorite thing about this place is the breadth of vegetarian options. At most Asian food locations, you cannot get sweet and sour tofu or orange tofu... they will only serve these items with meat. That's not the case here, however! Their tofu was well cooked and their ingredients were clearly very fresh. The broccoli with garlic sauce actually had spice to it which many other places claim but do not deliver on. The boba was also good. Even though they're perhaps a little pricey-er than other Asian food in the area, you pay for quality AND they also give generous portions. We were able to make two entrees last for 5 servings.

Also the owners are very kind and offer fantastic...

This was my kids and I first trip to Uptown Normal in some years and I can say without a doubt we found our one other Chinese food place outside of China Star that we love. The place for a Saturday evening was quite and not busy outside of ppl coming in to pick up to go orders which happened frequently while there but nothing to disrupt either the service or atmosphere. The lady who took care of us was very sweet and prompt when it came to taking our orders and bringing us our food all the way up to us leaving. The food was great, hot and took no time at all to get. We def enjoyed our experience and will def be visiting again if for nothing else the crab ragoon which is ultimately our favorite no matter where we eat between our two places.

The food is incredible. When they say spicy, they aren't joking. The spicy tofu was hotter than any other Thai or Chinese dish I have experienced. Loved the peanut dumplings, the sauce was good and there was a big drizzle of actual peanut butter. The dumplings were a really good size and we actually saved some for leftovers. Edit to add more pics: The eggplant tofu with garlic sauce was amazing! I absolutely loved the spicy garlic cucumber and peanut salad (a cold salad). The black pepper tofu wasn't spicy, if you need a cooler dish, and my husband likes the general tso's a lot. This restaurant is consistently the best and freshest Chinese food in town.
