Great for families! Easy to access with ample paid parking. You can also consider parking for free near by but just pay attention to street signs. The water is shallow and is perfect for families with young children. The first beach I ever visited where I felt comfortable letting my 3 and 4 year old play in the water without me hovering over them. True moment of relaxation 😌. This is certainly my new spot moving forward. The biggest downside is that you have to pay to gain access. The price is higher than I would have liked (25 per adult for Non calvert County residents) but i guess that cost helps to keep the place from being over crowded. I'm sure we will be back 😀

1 star because this beach is 10 square feet for one and charges $25 for entrance, with a $2 charge if you’re using a credit card. Surprise surprise, they do not take cash payments. If you don’t have a car, DON’T bother coming out here. Beach closes at 8, and it’s small enough to make sure everyone is out. You try to order an Uber, none of them will come out to your location. A cop will come to where you’re waiting and get mad at you for trying to leave the city and get even more frustrated if you try to speak to firefighters, another PUBLIC SERVICE agency. We were literally prevented from entering the establishment and told we were “not getting home” that night. The locals we came in to contact with were more helpful. But overall, very bad experience if you don’t have a car or transportation there. If you do have transportation, it’ll be pricey if you come with your family. This is really just for the residents, don’t go to here if you don’t live here. Not worth it at all.

I'm very puzzled at all these high rated reviews.. Spent a small portion of the day with my boyfriend here. We both have never gone here so we gave it a shot since it's only an hour and a half away from us. First of all, the fee for non-residents is pretty outrageous- $25 PER PERSON??? For what? A small portion of the bay?? Second, the water is too shallow & there were an INSANE amount of jellyfish. Third, we didn't get any rentals but we saw the price- so overpriced too. Fourth, there was only 2 hour parking near where we parked. In my opinion, this isn't worth it. It has great views from far away.

The beach is small and beautiful as others have stated. There are rows of dead cicadas washed up on the shores, interesting to see. There is a fee to get on the beach. For non-North Beach residents the fee is $25/person over 12yrs. 3-11yrs old is $10, there is a sign at the entrance. You can walk the boardwalk for free. There are plenty of benches to sit on or you can read them. As each bench has been dedicated "in memory of" someone's family member. Some even have pictures of the person it's very sweet and solemn. Nice quiet area to walk around and enjoy the views.

We're here as a family (2 young kids) on a weekday in October, it's 70 out, and no one else is really on the beach. It's a small beach area but has a fun playground (see photo). Nearby are plenty of places to grab coffee, ice cream, and food so this is a super easy day with our kids. FYI there's no info on the website about after season, but after labor day you don't have to pay to visit (otherwise it would've been $60). The two hour parking right on Bay st isn't enforced (staff told us), so overall we've had a great experience for a 1h day trip to the beach!

Disappointed that what you pay for are small swimming areas surrounded by piers and a boardwalk. Make sure you do not bring a shade tent of any sort you will not be able to use it, they only allow umbrellas. They'll gladly rent one to you for $15. If you look up public beach access, note this is not public beach access because you have to pay $25/adult and $10/child. The price for what we paid for isn't worth it and we won't return again, we were extremely disappointed. Parking for more than 2 hours is $9 too.
