We were so excited to find a beach town only 1 hour from Fairfax. We ate a delicious meal at Hook and Vine but we were then planning a day at their beach which was ruined when we saw the size and price tag. If you live out of county and are under age 55 it’s $25 per person! Almost $10 if you’re over 55 or small child. Yes you read those prices right, and for an area of sand not much bigger than the size of my small backyard and no lifeguard. What is this town thinking?! Totally ruined the whole North Beach town experience, what a huge let down and to us was a clear sign that they don’t value visitors. If you end up in this predicament like we did and refusing to pay $100 for our family of 4 for a beach that is nothing more than meh, you could drive 35 min over to Flag Pond Nature Park for a huge park, nice long beach right on the bay, trails (note it’s a 10 min walk under shade trees down to the beach), places to explore for shark teeth and seashells, clean bathrooms by both the parking lot and the beach, park rangers etc and only $8/car out of state. Thanks Flag Pond, you saved the day! For those from Fairfax it was an easy 1h 20min ride home even on a sunny summer August day and you don’t get stuck in beach traffic since it’s not the route of the Bay Bridge. If you go to North Beach, just...
Read moreTerrible beach, like other reviews said, the water is so dirty, i didnt allow my kids to swim in the water, just play on the sand. The beach is too small. The restroom is dirty and small, there's a long line waiting to get into a rest room. This place don't really welcome people from other county because you have to pay $25 per adult to get in, really discourage outside people. Make sure u only bring umbrella, any other kind like tent structure wont be allowed and you have to rent umbrellas from them, which is another way to rip you off as well. The worst part is parking. Parking is small, if you want to pay for parking, it will be expensive, like $9. The most important thing you need to remember is to put the small parking receipt on the dashboard of you car, if you dont, they will toll your car immediately, and u might have to get an uber to get your car back, and that would be a 20 minute driving to the impound place, $250 to get your car back. I cant think of any reason why anyone would want to come here, unless you live in its county, which is...
Read more1 star because this beach is 10 square feet for one and charges $25 for entrance, with a $2 charge if you’re using a credit card. Surprise surprise, they do not take cash payments. If you don’t have a car, DON’T bother coming out here. Beach closes at 8, and it’s small enough to make sure everyone is out. You try to order an Uber, none of them will come out to your location. A cop will come to where you’re waiting and get mad at you for trying to leave the city and get even more frustrated if you try to speak to firefighters, another PUBLIC SERVICE agency. We were literally prevented from entering the establishment and told we were “not getting home” that night. The locals we came in to contact with were more helpful. But overall, very bad experience if you don’t have a car or transportation there. If you do have transportation, it’ll be pricey if you come with your family. This is really just for the residents, don’t go to here if you don’t live here. Not...
