Here’s what I found about North Brunswick Plaza (997 US‑1, North Brunswick, NJ):
🏬 Overview • A large power‑center (~400 000 sq ft) developed by Maione Inc., hosting major big‑box anchors like Walmart, Burlington, Marshalls, Office Depot, Babies“R”Us, HomeGoods, Macy’s Furniture, Modell’s, PetSmart, Sleepy’s, and TGI Friday’s . • Opened in 1987, last renovated in 1995, features around 9–12 stores and 1,600–1,680 parking spaces
“Good amount of parking, multiple good entrances/exits … lots of parking available close to stores” . “Great location, plenty of products to choose from, nice staff and good prices” .
👍 Strengths • ✔ Excellent parking situation with multiple convenient entrances/exits and rarely a long walk to stores . • ✔ Wide tenant selection: covers essentials—groceries, home décor, department stores, pet supplies, office/back‑to‑school, coffee and dining (). • ✔ Often praised for good prices and helpful staff . • ✔ Contains grab‑and‑go food options like TGI Friday’s (takeout), deli, dumplings .
👎 Areas for Improvement • Some stores (e.g., food outlets) have received mixed reviews—“dumplings not as good as when first opened” (). • The center isn’t the newest—last renovated in 1995, which may show a dated look compared to newer plazas . • Notably smaller than neighboring centers like The Shoppes at North Brunswick and Brunswick Shopping Center. ⸻
✅ Comparison to Nearby Plazas • The Shoppes at North Brunswick (650 Shoppes Blvd): more boutique‑style, higher-end shops and national chains • Brunswick Shopping Center (Milltown Rd): includes supermarket, Dunkin’, and Rent‑a‑Center—well‑reviewed as roomy and convenient .
⸻
📝 Final Take
North Brunswick Plaza is your classic power‑center—ideal for one‑stop shopping with plenty of parking, solid anchor stores, and practical dining options. While it may lack the modern vibe of newer lifestyle centers, it scores well on convenience and variety.

Tips for Visitors • Expect zero hassle parking—even on busy weekends. • Great for running multiple errands: groceries, home goods, clothing, pet supplies. • Want a fancier atmosphere or trendier shops? Check out the Shoppes nearby. • If you’re curious, try some local eats—especially the dumplings or...
Read moreI like Walmart's but not one in North Brunswick, NJ. I was trying to get hot food and no one was behind the counter but the person was working on the floor and had a serious problem coming to help me. When I complained about the problem she refused to help me and stated so to another co worker and walked away. The Manager on duty could not help me because that was not his area and the Manager in charged day was off. So the staff could say and do whatever and talk nasty to the customer and get away with it. Was told that If I had a problem then I should come and work at this Walmart's. I am 75 years old and I was extremely upset that I would be talked to like I was a no body. Never in my 75 years have I been treated by a kid that has not been trained by the company to respect there customers and treat them with respect. I could say...
Read moreThey usually always have what I need. The Walmart I live by isn't s super Walmart, so I go to this one. I love the new and improved self checkout... When they take cash. Usually a couple of em do, just gotta pay attention. I scan my own food and bag it, without the rush or someone nasty breathing down my neck (Wegmans) LUL.
I will only shop here during the weekdays and in the AM. Wouldn't recommend shopping here at night, regardless of the day. I always have an issue at night with jersey drivers, always some hot head. Never had this issue down in VA (Virginia).
MANAGER IS VERY FRIENDLY AND SO IS THE REST OF THE STAFF. Only downside is that the cart attendance have to bring in the carts by hand, without the machine... That Sam's club uses. So have some respect for em and put your...
