this biz is awesome and has only one (1) star review and I was a witness to support the biz owner and discount that erroneous review at the end of my review!
I will start by saying I am an oyster fanatic and this was a dreamy highlight for my short trip to Rhode Island!! Graham is very communicative and answered my questions before I booked the tour. I was supposed to get off a plane in Boston and go straight to this West Passage oyster tour. Well, the airport rental car line had other plans… even though my plans accounted for enough time, we hit terrible traffic. I called Graham immediately when it looked like we may have trouble arriving on time. He was so nice and said that he would hold the boat for up to 20 min. Well, I had to call back and confirm we would be even later. He graciously allowed me to take the last seat on the boat the next day. Phew, I would’ve been crushed.
The tour was awesome! Graham is such a nice guy. Super knowledgeable and clearly passionate about his farming business. He answered all my (many) questions about oyster eco-system and his business. We shucked and ate easily 3-4 dozen delicious bivalves straight from the ocean! It was a beautiful day and I just loved this tour. As a complete fanatic , it couldnt have been any better! Support West Passage Oysters !!!
*Graham’s one poor review was a result of a group that was supposed to be on the boat with me, and were No-show. The tour was for 1:00. I arrived about 12:53. No one else had arrived. I spoke with Graham and his gf for a while as we waited for the other people. Graham said he hadn’t heard from them even though he said he had texted them to let them know it’s byob if they chose. I watched Graham double check the date/reservation and I watched him call them. No answer. Another 12-15 min passed and he said outloud “let me give them one final call”. He called again and nothing. So we left. I looked at my phone and it was 1:20 (20 min later than scheduled time). Not sure what happened there but that is the story for single...

This past weekend, my girlfriend and I had the pleasure of visiting West Passage Oyster in North Kingstown, and it was an absolute delight! From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by the serene beauty of the coastal landscape and the inviting atmosphere of west passage oyster farm.
The tour itself was both educational and engaging. Led by the knowledgeable captain Graham who shared his passion for oyster farming, we learned about the intricate process of cultivating these delectable bivalves. Navigating through the waters of North Kingstown, we had the unique opportunity to see firsthand how the oysters are grown and harvested, gaining a deeper appreciation for the sustainable practices employed by the farm.
But the real highlight of the experience was, without a doubt, the tasting session. Right on the boat we were able to shuck fresh oysters, served on the half shell and paired with fresh lemon or hot sauce, an absolute revelation. Each bite was a burst of briny sweetness, perfectly complemented by the crisp, clean flavors of the ocean—a true testament to the farm's commitment to quality and freshness.
The genuine hospitality of captain Graham was second to none. From his friendly welcome to the insightful conversations shared throughout the tour, it was clear that he was not just passionate about oyster farming, but also dedicated to creating a memorable and enjoyable experience for every visitor.
In conclusion, my visit to West Passage Oyster was nothing short of exceptional. With its stunning setting, informative tour, and delicious oysters, it's a must-visit destination for anyone looking to savor the flavors of the sea and learn more about the art of oyster farming. I can't recommend it highly enough—don't miss your chance to experience the magic of West Passage Oyster...
Read moreFirst.. Graham, if you’re reading this.. thank you so much for being the best part of our “Staycation”… stumbling upon your tour was the highlight of our week!
This experience was one of my favorite things that my fiance & I have done in a long time! The excursion is usually limited to 6 people due to the size of the boat, but we were lucky enough to be the only people onboard with Captain Graham for ours! We started off on the docks learning about baby oysters, the process for growing them, & even getting to hold them. After that….we were off! Graham took us for a lovely evening cruise out to his farm & along the way, he explained the differences in methods for oyster farming & answered all the questions we had. When we got out to his farm, he explained his farming process & then he hooked in & treated us to freshest of fresh oysters we’ve ever had! & man were we TREATED! He also taught us how to shuck, & by the time we were on our way back to the docks, I was shucking oysters like a pro on a moving boat! (Ok.. maybe not a pro, but WAY better than when I tried to learn using YouTube!) But aside from the delicious oysters, the beautiful views, & the unique experience, Graham was just a really cool guy to hang with for the evening. He was interesting, chill, & just one of those salt of the earth kind of people. We truly enjoyed our time with him. If you’re hemming & hawing over whether or not this is worth it.. STOP! This experience is so worthwhile. Expect to get your hands a little dirty, expect to leave smelling a little of seawater, but also expect to leave with a belly full of oysters & a heart just as full. Don’t hesitate,...
