Buttercup — Restaurant in North Kingstown

Wickford Village is a smaller version of almost any coastal village in Rhode Island, and New England in general. It has a collection of historic buildings, boats, waterways, and businesses. One of these business is a wine bar and flower shop called Buttercup.

Buttercup is located on a bend of what is a coastal side route of Route 1. Called Route 1A, you'll be able to find a lot more of the rural and historical versions of New England by taking this route. In fact, Route 1A is the only way you'll be able to witness the core of what is Wickford Village.

Buttercup has limited hours, which is great if you're looking for a reasonable bedtime while having a night out. But, I recommend going during a busy time of the day, either before or right after dinner, so you can get a nice spot on their patio to people watch. You'll be able to see a variety of pedestrian, car, and more. The fun, but also possibly concerning part, is the way that Route 1A bends and because of that, the right-of-way of cars can be confusing. Instead of the right-of-way going straight when coming to a "T" shaped intersection, it veers to the right.

If you're a helpful person, and don't suffer from Bystander Effect, you may feel compelled to help people there if there is a situation. But, I digress.

The people watching on the patio is wonderful. And the experience of sipping on a prosecco whilst doing even moreso. The menu had a bunch of wines from various regions, some local and some organice. There are also some snacks to enjoy if you're hungry.

We had the absolute BEST experience with Lauren and Buttercup The Flower Truck! We had the truck at my sister's bridal shower and it was a huge hit! Everyone loved the flowers (they lasted weeks after the shower) and the truck itself was so cute. Lauren was extremely communicative and so helpful through the entire planning process. We had Lauren C, the owner of Buttercup, provide a flower bar at my daughter's bridal shower this past Sunday at Arturo Joes. Let me tell you, it was the hit of the event. The flowers and greenery were beautifully displayed in the room and gave off a gorgeous fragrance. Lauren took the time to help each guest create a lovely wrapped bouquet to take home, which was their shower favor. The guests have not stopped commenting on how much they enjoyed the flower bar.
