Okay, this is gonna be a long one. I love this park. It's HUGE. It has nice long sidewalks that we love to longboard on. Huge field, nice shaded playscape and 4 basketball courts. The reason we always come is for the huge OUTDOOR ROLLER RINK! We practically always have it to ourselves for roller skating since hockey players use the one near Smoke Ranch all the time. Rink is slightly slanted down towards the south fyi. Now, there's also the sandstone ridge area. We finally decided to go hike/walk that area over there. It's a really cool area, although there is some clothing/bedding amongst the trees as if from homeless shelters. That didn't keep us from seeing the nature. However... that day we saw our first wild cat amongst the ridges! It was a smaller, younger cat, but still 2 or 3 times the size our cat Moonshine! Luckily, we had our dog Luna with us and the cat may have been just as scared as us, but when we locked eyes, we all darted in opposite directions! My 4 years hiking the mountains and red rocks around the city... I see my first predator at a neighborhood park?!? Wild. Still love this park. Just not going back down...
Read moreI have only been here for about a year and the park looked okay. Things started to change late last year. People are using the park for a dumping ground. They're dumping couches, mattresses, tires, and even toilets in the park. The park would be cleaned and people would just dump more stuff in the park. To be honest, I think people are tired of cleaning the junk out of the park because the piles keep getting bigger and bigger. No one is coming out any more to clean the park. I see the police roll through the park sometimes during the days and evenings. People are more likely to illegally dump stuff at night, under the cover of darkness. The gates to the park are now being secured at night. Maybe this will prevent...
Read moreThis used to be a very pleasant park to visit with my children but it now has turned into a dumping ground, a racetrack and a place to blow things up. It's very sad to look out your window and see several couches, old Christmas trees, mattresses and such scattered about and to add to that you get to hear very loud booms as people blow things up in the wash and burn their tires and do donuts. I hoped the City of North Las Vegas would care more than they have as this has been like this since roughly before December but they clearly don't. I will not be coming here with my children despite it being across the street. I strongly advise any parent to...
