We took our 2 year old nephew, who is EXTREMELY squirmy, tends to freak out when he hears the sound of clippers at home, and doesn't typically do well with strangers, but was in desperate need of a good haircut. We thought he would love sitting in the police car, but he immediately started throwing his body in typical toddler fashion. Lucy immediately offered to switch it out for a chair so he could sit in my lap. Throughout the entire experience, she was great about making him as comfortable as possible- offering to change the show to something he would like, giving him a sucker (after asking me if he could have it first), giving him a toy to keep him distracted, and playing and talking with him the whole time. She was very careful about his sensitive skin (using the clippers a certain way so he wouldn't feel it as much, and using baby powder to help with the itchy hair since he refused the cape), and followed his wiggles step for step. At one point, he kept arching backwards to see what was happening, and she was even cutting his hair upside down. Read moreI want to give a special shout out to this salon. A week or so ago I scheduled an appointment with them for my daughter’s hair to be cut. We went at the time I scheduled but they couldn’t find the appointment in their system. One of the women working there said one of the hairstylist had an emergency and they had to cancel appointments. My daughter was excited for the hair cut so I got a little upset, not screaming in the salon full of children upset but how do you guys do business this way kind of upset. The women apologized precisely and we left. She called me about an hour later and said they searched to see what happened and it ended up being that the system just had an error and changed my Saturday appointment to a Tuesday one for some reason and that wasn’t being reflected in my app. You guys she was so understanding. I apologized for getting upset as soon as I realized they didn’t just cancel our appointment with no notice and she reassured me that she understood why I was upset and apologized for the system malfunctioning. Read moreWe took our son for his first haircut and unfortunately will never go back. I understand it’s a salon but the slide had dust and hair all over it and a collection of dust and hair under it that was very visible so we didn’t feel we could let our older child play on it. Our son was very calm and happy during his whole cut. He was squirmy as any baby/toddler might be but otherwise very content. I asked the stylist to just give him a trim to get the hair off his face and ears. She gave him a full haircut that wound up way too short and it wasn’t evenly cut. The stylist kept pulling his hands out from under the cover, I’m not sure the reason for that because he just ended up with hair all over his hands and he’s a baby - he constantly sticks his hands in his mouth. I also wish there was a first haircut option/price point for children who won’t get shampooed and what all is claimed a first haircut comes with. We paid for the first haircut service but all she did was squirt his hair with a water bottle. They have great reviews (why we tried them) but we did not have a good experience and will...
