Foodland Kailua — Attraction in Oʻahu

This store was ok but needs to work on customer service. I visited on July 7, 2021 atThe guy at the fish counter was more focused on chatting with his colleague than helping me. I’m not from Hawai’i and am unfamiliar with poke, so I asked him what one variety of poke was, but he just kept chatting with his coworker about a baby shower and disregarded me. When I asked for my poke, instead of asking me if I wanted a poke bowl or just poke on its own, he very condescendingly says to me “Are you trying to order a poke bowl? Is that what you’re trying to order?” It went on like this but I won’t go on. It’s too bad because a lot of people told me Foodland was the place to go in Hawai’i, but I found Safeway’s employees to be much friendlier. The one redemption was the greeter by the door who actually said hello...

I bought the prime rib dinner at Kailua Foodland for Thanksgiving. I had a question before I picked it up and called customer service, they were incredibly kind and patient with me. I then picked up my meal on Thanksgiving day, they brought it out to my car in less than 5 minutes and the young woman who brought it was also very kind. It made the whole process super easy. I came home and followed the directions and cooked everything up quick and easy. It was very tasty and I would totally recommend this service for the future. I was most impressed by the kindness and Aloha shown by everyone I encountered during this service. Foodland Kailua, great job! Great store to shop at. The produce department is one of the best in the islands. The produce department is full of local and organic fruits and vegetables,. As well as those from the continent. The store is fresh and clean and has many workers to help. They have a large poke bar, sandwich and deli counter, specialty meat counter with premade scewers and specialty cuts of meat. They have a large wine and beer section and attached to the main story is an R. Fields gourmet store with specialty cheeses, sauces , and a very large selection of wines from around the world.
