We like to shop at all the Foodland stores primarily because there are many locations all over the island. The Wahiawa branch is located in our home town so this is the store we frequent the most. Here again are more long time employees and friendly faces we like to see when we check out at the registers or peruse the produce section.
The prices here tend to be a bit higher than Tamura's however the produce is usually a higher quality than Tamura's and more diverse. The poke at Wahiawa Foodland is very tasty as well. We don't find it overly salty compared to some other places and they do run the poke bowl on sale regularly. As you can see from the photo the poke section is pretty well stocked with quite a few different types of poke.
This store is always clean and never smells bad like some food stores I've been in. I appreciate a clean store, especially when I am shopping for food.
They have a deli in every Foodland location I have ever been in and the fried chicken is one of our favorites as it reminds me a lot of my homemade friend chicken. And since I absolutely hate to deep fry I can always cheat and pick up fried chicken at Foodland. They seem to run some type of fried chicken on sale almost every week so that is a plus as well.
You can get money orders and have money transferred at the customer service counter and also get cash out of the convenient ATM machine located at the front of the store.
Oh, and let's not forget the Ted's Pies! They always sell Ted's Pies and sometimes run them on sale for around $12.99. Ted's Bakery makes the best pie crust ever so we always go to Foodland to get our...
Read moreWell my experience at foodland Wahiawa is always a pleasant one. I like that the produce dept. is always fully stocked & that everything is neatly in placed. And the fresh veggie salads are awesome !!! in a variety of choices. My family has dieabetes so I always have to come to get fresh fruites an veggies on a weekly basis an I know I can trust foodland to have the important items I need to take care of my family. Cos honest I really don't like going from store to store its just a hassle, And more importantly is cleanliness of the store. Foodland is always clean from top to bottom. And Im glad for that. Another good thing I like about the store is... The friendly store workers who are stocking shelves, who are willing to lend you a helping an take to the exact spot immidiatly. This has alwas been a service that Ive liked an that I thought was awesome that they went out of there way to serve me. I know sometimes way back when, they never had anyone on the floor to help an you have walk all the to the front of the store just to ask for something, an run back an continue shopping. I was frustrated then. But Im glad your floor stockers do have the common courtesy to help a customer out. I mean what is five min. of there time ? I think there awesome an its a new change an I like it. And there very enthusiastic about helping a customer. Well that's all I have to say... Keep up the good work Wahiawa Branch & Kaneohe Branch are the very ones I speak...
Read moreFirst time there yesterday. First of all the cashier we went to kept bugging us for a phone number and to sign up and something about a discount after saying no many times. Then a customer behind us offered to put his number in for us and she, the cashier, was so quick to say "they dont want a discount" with a tone. Like, excuse me??? Then I noticed our total was WAY too high and looked at the receipt. They charged us $27 for a mini seedless watermelon that was weighted at about 8lbs!!! It wasn't 8lbs for all I know, definitely 2-3lbs. I think the cashier was leaning on the register when she weighted the mini watermelon. We asked her about it and the manager came by and she was all like "well they didn't want the discount" !!! We didn't know that the mini watermelon was going to be $27!!! Even with the discount, I wouldn't have wanted the melon anyways. The cashier's...
