Neil S. Blaisdell Park – A Serene Stop with a Double Rainbow Surprise
Sometimes the most memorable experiences are the ones you don’t plan—and that’s exactly what happened at Neil S. Blaisdell Park.
🌧️🌈 A Magical Moment After the Rain We were driving when we spotted something extraordinary: a thick, vibrant double rainbow stretching end to end across the sky. It had just rained, and while rainbows in Hawaii aren’t rare, this one was picture-perfect—bold, full, and glowing like a postcard come to life. It was so beautiful, we had to pull over.
🐓 A Slice of Local Life As we parked, we saw a few wild chickens pecking through the grass—a familiar and charming sight around the island. Others were already standing in awe, phones in hand, admiring the rainbow with the same wonder we felt. It was a shared moment of quiet joy among strangers.
🌴 A Peaceful Pit Stop The park itself is clean, open, and inviting, with grassy areas, trees, and views that make it a great place to just pause and breathe. Whether you’re there for a jog, a picnic, or like us, simply passing through—it offers a peaceful atmosphere to enjoy the moment.
🌅 A Perfect Ending to the Day That rainbow was the perfect sendoff to our day, and the park was the perfect place to witness it. Sometimes nature stops you in your tracks—and this was one of those unforgettable moments.
⭐ Final Thoughts Neil S. Blaisdell Park may not be on every travel guide’s front page, but for us, it became a highlight. If you’re nearby, don’t hesitate to stop, stretch your legs, and see what the sky might show you. You never know when a double rainbow...
Read moreI like this park. It has a big open greenspace, lots of stately, shady trees, picnic tables, playground equipment, and the Peace Bell. I didn't use the restroom, but I image they are as clean as you'd expect any public park to be. I saw people with their dogs, but no pet waste. It's not a place tourists are coming to the island to visit, but it is a definite asset to the local residents. For the reviewer who didn't like the presence of homeless people there, just offer them a room at your house, and...
Read moreWe stopped here because there is something labeled a bike path that is accessible from the park. It is the most pathetic excuse for a bike path that you have ever seen. It is literally littered from end to end with trash and abandoned vehicles and homeless encampments and is in serious disrepair. There isn't a stretch of even 100 yards that has any kind of a view that anybody would want to appreciate. The most appropriate label for the bike path is access path for homeless encampment and...
