Recliner, luxury seats! That's enough right there... row A, B, C, D are close to the screen. There are so many things to appreciate about Regal Kapolei Commons.
🌟 Free parking, and lots of it. 🌟 A relaxing, multi-colored water fountain. 🌟 Lounging, cushioned chairs to relax in. 🌟 A restaurant/Bar with outdoor seating. I personally wouldn't have chosen a bar to be there. Children are around and can also watch/learn/be influenced with alcohol drinking. Also concerns of possible obnoxious, overwhelming drinkers/drunks who may be unruly; hence, now entering into the theatre - distracting, disturbing, and unpredictably sitting next to your child... in a dark theatre. 😕 🌟 There are restrooms outside of the theatre. There are restrooms inside the theatre. LOL! Okay, inside is a given. 🌟 The glass entry doors are inviting. And everything smells "brand new" Yayyyy! 🌟 Ticket kiosk makes it easy to quickly select movie choice, reserve seats, purchase and print tickets. Or walk over to a service agent and they will take care of it for you. *It would be awesome if there was a FOOD kiosk. Pre-order food, somewhat lessen the crowded concession line and entry door congestion. {Come early to avoid grouch-ism}. Hahaha. 🌟 Wow to the lobby! Open, high ceilings, nice and cool air conditioning. . . exciting! 🌟 Restrooms off to the side. ❌ Speaking of restrooms, who designed it? That's the one biggest disappointments about this new facility. 😨 The two hand air dryers are extremely low for women 5' and taller. Great for children's use. One dryer definitely being raised would bring so much joy and appreciation to many movie-queens. Let me just state for the record, we are blessed in Hawai'i. We're grateful for the comforts of restrooms, running water, leisure movie dates, and the option to consume food if we so desire. 😣 Moving ahead - there's more about this. If you could hear my thoughts right now, and you were the designer of this project - whew, you probably wouldn't ever want to see me again. With that being said, if you truly care about the strength of improving your designs open your heart to hear. ❌ The bathroom sinks are too far back in the counter. The front counter space collects water and as we lean in to wash our hands, the abdominal area on our clothing absorbs all the water that was there. I can imagine if someone shorter would then wet their chest area and someone taller, would probably be accused of wetting their pants! 😂😂😂 *Most females are carrying: a purse, a jacket, a diaper bag, a child, and whatever else they can when they are battling the sink. ❌ I am aware that we have become more environmentally cautious when using paper towels after we wash our hands. (I hope you guys are washing your hands. .. and with soap too!) But I've learned that after a water bath - a towel is necessary. And the 👍👍 on that is the paper towel can be moistened with water to be used after the buttery popcorn event. No paper towel, lots of buttery, messy recliner seats. This is not a job for napkins 😲 they break apart. 🌟 The staff are so friendly, and very serving. Most of them go beyond what they need to for Regal's patrons. They are wonderful! Thank you for your smiles, correct food orders, great food and various choices, timely ticket/seat changes, and a comfortable, enjoyable ambiance. 🌟 Heading towards the auditoriums, it's such an amazing, exciting adventure! So exciting I realize I want to use the restroom again. Thank you Lord that there are restrooms there too. *Even a family one. That is very convenient. Great idea! 🌟 I save the best for last. When there is a recliner, great picture, great sound, air-conditioning, NO ONE CAN KICK THE BACK OF MY SEAT, AND great company I have just this to say -
Happy, happy! Joy, joy! I'm a blessed woman 😙

Read moreI took my son to the 10:50 Zootopia showing. I got there at about 10:20 and stood in line to get our tickets. There was only about 3 people ahead of me, but the line was moving so slowly for having all 3 cashiers open. The cashier said, "I have you in seat F4, is that ok?" Um... I guess so. She didn't offer any explanation as to how to read the seating chart or even bother to point out where the damn seat was in the auditorium. But my son had just taken off his shoe and threw it on the ground so I was like, "Sure I guess so.". $10.75 for a matinee. Damn dude. It's been a long time since I paid to see a movie, 2 years to be exact (having a baby does that), but that still seemed like a lot.
We got in line for the snacks. The line that never moved. We were about halfway down the 3rd row and we didn't get to the ordering counter for exactly 35 mins. There were 4 or 5 cashiers open, and still it took that long. I saw that they had stuff like kim chee hot dogs and hamburgers and then like local bakery made cookies and cupcakes and mini malasadas.
I got into the theater and the previews were already showing (as I spent more than 35 mins just to get my snacks). I found row F where I was supposed to sit. Apparently, the first family had seats 1, 2, and 3. The next family had seats 5, 6, and 7. Guess no one explained to any of us how the seats actually worked. There was no one else in the whole theater so I decided to sit somewhere else than on the aisle squished between the other 2 families. I finally figured out how to get the seats to recline (the small button on the inside right of your seat). The seats were definitely comfortable. They were wide and cushiony. It's cool that they recline, but in order to get the back to recline at all, you have to have your feet propped up all the way. I naturally like to sit with my back reclined a little with my feet propped up about 45 degrees. I ended up having to put the foot rest all the way up just to have the back recline and then sat with my legs folded under me. But all was well since there was enough space for me to comfortably do that. My son enjoyed the reclined back part too.
The seats also come with its own little table to put your drinks and what not. I guess it would prove to be useful if you had purchased a burger or something like that to eat.
There was a lot of space between each row. Enough to be fully reclined and someone walk by comfortably, not having to "scooch" past everyone.
My husband told me that the picture there would be awesome. He said the website described it as "wall-to-wall screens". I was pretty disappointed. I didn't feel that the screens were any bigger than those I have been to in the past and the quality wasn't something that blew me away either. I guess I was just expecting too much. The sound quality was good from what we experienced, but its not like we were watching a high action packed movie...
Read moreWorst experience ever. I never write negative reviews. I am always overly considerate of others. You are probably just like me. So, I am sure you can understand that things must have been so awful to push a nice mom of three to the edge of kindness. Its summer, so you know how high costs prevent many parents from taking those Disney vacations. I decided to take my family to see incredibles 2 in 3d. My kids were so excited. I decided to purchase my tickets online. On this exact site that connects me. I specifically typed in Kapolei Regal. For 3 adult tickets and 2 kids I spent seventy eight dollars. I know it's crazy. But if you could see how excited the kids were. Movies are a family tradition, right? So I get there and I keep ignoring things like 5 meals of burgers and waffle fries cost about 100. We wait for our food and they say your meals didn't include drinks. I pay 30.00 for 4 medium and a small drink. I go to get to our movie and they say it's the same regal but wrong theater. I end up at guest services. I explained that my kids are sad, I paid for my tickets, our food is getting cold. The girl gets really rude. Basically says sorry but you gotta buy more tickets and wait for a refund from pearl ridge. Then she says basically pearl ridge isn't equal to our higher theater. I said for like 17 dollars a seat you aren't going to get condescending to me! As she begins smirking and giving me a compassionless attitude I ask for a manager. Let me say to the big boss of this location! Your employee is lucky I'm not naming her here directly. She was so awful I told her how do you look at families and basically say sucks to be you. Anyways. We ended up eating cold overpriced food with no movie. I took my kids to buy movies. It ruined our entire evening. I was so angry as a mom should be. What good is a beautiful theater if you treat people that are always giving back to everyone, like they are beneath. I don't care how much money someone spends you don't do this. Now every time my kids see incredibles 2 signs they will feel weird. How can people do this to kids? I didn't want anything big. I just wanted your staff to say... oh, we can put you in the next 3d show. Regal is one company and cancel the other tickets. Note to parents, we should teach our kids to be polite but to stand up when people are trying to treat us like we don't matter. I hate making a scene. But you don't treat parents like that! Rolling your eyes is showing your employer Regal that you don't give a sht and that the company stands behind your attitude. We need to prevent people in public service jobs who ruin people's days. Regal, I would gladly review you with all stars if you fixed the experience for my kids. They didn't deserve...
