Richardson Pool — Attraction in Oʻahu

This place has 3 pools. The main pool (Olympic size) is 4 feet from end to end. It has a water slide and is sectioned with a few swimming lanes and a large wading area, the latter is where the water slide exits. Some of the tiles on the floor of the main pool are broken and if you aren't careful you can cut your feet.

The deep pool is graded from 4 feet to 15 feet deep. It has two high diving platforms over the deep end. Not sure of the heights of the two diving platforms.

The kids wading pool is 18 inches deep.

The Army uses these pools for physical training in the mornings. It's a spectacle to see them all in full utility uniform running in the swim lanes. Specialized aquatic physical therapy is performed here on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays from 6am to 8am, but requires a referral from an Army Medical Care manager.

The temperature of the water is quite a bit cooler than the beautiful oceans surrounding the island. The air is cooler up here, due to the higher elevation, and therefore the average water Temps in the pools...

Terrible Experience – Avoid at All Costs

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is a complete disaster, starting with the lifeguard, Mike, who was not only rude but completely inattentive. He spent more time on his phone than watching the pool, and when approached with a problem, he responded with pure attitude and zero professionalism.

To make matters worse, the customer service is mind boggling. We showed up during our scheduled swim time that we reserved through them, only to be told they don’t reserve the pool in summer! No prior notice, no apology, just a shrug and a “not our problem” response. Absolutely unacceptable.

Save your time. Go anywhere else where they actually respect their patrons and care...

Our favorite pool out of all the MWR pools. Great kid pool area, only 18" deep. Main pool is nice and starts at 4 ft deep. A few diving boards in the deep end and also a large water slide the drops off into the deep end. Usually 4-5 lifeguards in duty. Plenty of lawn chairs, patio benches, picnic benches and a pavilion for parties. Bathrooms have lockers, showers, restrooms and changing tables for babies. There is a nice privacy fence surrounding the perimeter for my privacy from the roads around. Hours are usually 11-1700 everyday but closed on Tuesdays.
