Bucket list: ride on the beach ✔️

We had a fantastic ride on the beach and the resort trails. We galloped down a Hawaiian sand trail, rode right on the beach, went past the WW2 pillbox where the Japanese planes were first spotted from and past the oldest banyan tree on the island of Oahu (also featured in many movies). The scenery was unreal and just fantastic to ride past. I rode the cutest little retired Reiner named Jet, and my husband had a big handsome former ranch horse named Leo.

As a horse person, I was pleased to see all horses in great body condition, knowledgeable hands working the stables and quality tack. The horses weren’t robotic trail horses like you sometimes find at tourist riding facilities- they were well trained and very safe but also had personality and spunk. They were absolutely lovely mounts. Because we are very experienced riders (both world and reserve world champions showing western all around and former varsity equestrian athletes in college), our hand Kayla really let us enjoy the ride and make the best of it. They also retire their horses after they can’t do the job anymore and let them live out their days which is huge in my book- the horse well-being should come first always. If you want to ride while visiting Oahu, the Stables at Turtle Bay are fantastic. I will be recommending to...

This was our first time at The Stables at Turtle Bay and it was an amazing experience!! We made a reservation for the 9:30a trail ride, we met the hotel consigliere 30 minutes before out scheduled ride and she golf carted us over to the stables where we were cheerfully greeted. they explained the content form and were then fitted with helmets Our guide Tina was the best!!! Definitely request to ride with her as she was so kind and patient. She took us on a beyond Beautiful beach trail and explained some of the history. She took pictures of my husband and I which turned out great! After we were done. They picked us up in the golf cart and took us back to the hotel. I would definitely recommend this experience, you will not be disappointed BTW We were hotel guests, but this experience is opened...

I went here for my birthday and let me just say… THE BEST PLACE TO GO HORSEBACK RIDING! PLEASE GO HERE! You won’t regret it! I loved every piece of it. It was the best birthday ever! I usually go riding back home in LA. Huge difference. The scenery is breath taking! Views of the ocean and nature, it just feels unreal and the most beautiful experience!

My horse name was Cody and my boyfriend got Buster, both beautiful horses and very well taken care of! Kayla was so great! We had a 9:30 A.M. appointment. We left on time, but there was an unexpected traffic stop on the way up there. She was so kind and helpful and booked us for a 12:30P.M. Christina was an amazing guide, both very beautiful and kind people, amazing energy! We will definitely be back and take our friends here. I...

We had a lovely, windy, surf-sprayed ride. I have been an avid rider for years but my friend hadn’t been on horseback in many years. They found perfect horses for us (although Ben took advantage and gobbled all the sweet grass he could get to!), and we both enjoyed our semi-private (only because we were the only ones riding at the time) tour to the Pillbox. Vera is a wonderful guide and took photos for us. Super fun. Will do it again next time I’m on Oahu. And as a bonus, the most amazing Ahi melt sandwich at Lei Lei’s after capped off a wonderful morning.
